Family history of Joseph and Patricia Heller Kelly

              Joseph and Patricia Heller Kelley (Kelly) Family History Joseph Martin Kelley, son of James (Happy) and Mary Kinsella Kelley, married Patricia Heller, daughter of Coke and Madeline Heller, February 14, 1953, at St. Patrick's Church, Merna. They started housekeeping in the original Patrick and Mary Flynn Kelly home, 1 l/2 miles west of Merna, now called 21441 E. 1600N. Rd Normal. They remodeled the old home, but in 1970 they tore it down and built a new home in the same location. Their home was damaged in the 1982 tornado but was completely repaired. Many friends and family helped at that time, including people from the Mennonite Church. Joe farmed in partnership with his brother Robert. In early 1999 Joe and Patty and Robert formed the JPR Kelley Family Farm Partnership. Joe died December 20, 1999 of a brain tumor, glioblastoma multiforma. He died at home with his sisters, brother, children and grandchildren by his side. He is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Merna. Joe's and Patty's children are named below, oldest to youngest. Brigid Ann was born September 26, 1954. Brigid graduated Central Catholic High School and received an associate degree in horticulture from Illinois Central College. She worked at Bob Johnsons' and Denny's Restaurants and the Ramada Inn in Bloomington and Hardee's Restaurant and the Peoria Courthouse in Peoria. Brigid volunteered at Bro Menn Hospital in Normal and at the Glenn Oak Botanical Garden in Peoria. She lives in Peoria, and is a lector at daily mass at St. Mary's Cathedral Convent. Catherine Therese was born November 24, 1956. Katy graduated Central Catholic High School and the University of Illinois, and the University of Illinois College of Law. She was a prosecutor in the McLean County Law and Justice Center and also in Collin County, Texas after her marriage. She married John Jeffrey Buckles, August 16, 1986, at Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington, Illinois. They have three children, John Patrick, Thomas Christopher and Joseph Matthew. They live in Houston, Texas. Mary Madeline was born August 5, 1958. Mary graduated Central Catholic and the University of Illinois and attended graduate school at Indiana University. She was a photographer for the Colorado Springs Gazette and for the Kansas City Times. She married Mark Lamar Morland June 27, 1992 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Manitou Springs, Colorado. They and their daughter, Madeline Ann Kelly Morland, live in Manitou Springs, Colorado. James Patrick was born with Downs Syndrome February 24, 1961 and died September 18, 1974. Jimmy is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Merna, next to his father, Joseph. John Joseph was born August 19, 1962. John graduated NCHS and the University of Illinois an Electrical Engineer. He works for Motorola in Rolling Meadows and farms the JPR Kelley Family Farm Partnership with Tom Kelley and Scott Clement. He married Joan Louise Olson June 17, 1989 at the United Church of Woodhull in Woodhull, Illinois. Their children are William Hugh, Megan Elizabeth, Andrew James and Mitchell Patrick. They live in Palatine, Illinois. Margaret Patricia was born November 18, 1966. Margaret graduated NCHS and the University of Illinois and was a teacher and adjuster for the St. Paul Co. She married Scott Allan Clement April 6, 1991 in Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington. Scott graduated University of Illinois in Agriculture. Their first child, Jack Kelly Clement was born October 13, 1997 and died October 15, 1997. He is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Merna. Their other children are Sam Asher, born September 15, 1999 and Sophie Rose born April 12, 2006. They farm the JPR Kelley Family Farm Partnership with John and Tom Kelley and live l/4 mile east of Merna, at 23545 E. 1600 N. Rd., Normal, in the Michael and Margaret Larkin Kinsella family home, which they restored. Scott did much of the restoration himself. Thomas Michael was born January 15, 1969. Tom graduated NCHS and the University of Illinois a Mechanical Engineer. Tom works for Gentex and farms the JPR Kelley Family Farm Partnership with John Kelley and Scott Clement. He married Elizabeth Ellen Brubaker in St. Thomas UCC in Reading, Pennsylvania, July 5, 1996. Their children are Emily Irene, Duncan Patrick, Ronan Joseph and Spencer David. They live in Zeeland, Michigan. Patty married Joe's brother Robert, April 21, 2001.
