Hospital gets $17,100 from Gift Shop League: A check for $17,100 was presented to the Graham Hospital last night by the Graham Hospital Gift Shop Service League. The presentation was made by Mrs. Oscar Ernst, gift shop manager, to Donald G. Loftus, assistant administrator of the Graham Hospital, at the annual dinner meeting at the Canton Country Club. The funds will be used for the Development Fund. About 75 members and guests attended. Previously the League has given $87,100 to the hospital. This brings the total League donations to $104,200 since the Gift Shop opened in 1959. These funds are from the Gift Shop sales as well as the profits from the annual benefit luncheon and the membership dues. The Board of Directors for 1971 were named as follows; Mrs. William Page, president; Mrs. Russell Cardosi, first vice president; Mrs. Freeman Grant, second vice president; Mrs. Charles Taylor, recording secretary; Mrs. Phil Sidener, corresponding secretary; Miss Louise Sebree, treasurer; and Mrs. John Rusnak, Mrs. Dannie Moore, Mrs. Fred Myers, Mrs. Carl Soldwedel, Mrs. Vernon Denney, Mrs. Dean Sandidge, Mrs. Francis Strantz, Mrs. Edward Newcomb, Mrs. Charles L. Martin, Mrs. Ralph Huff, Mrs. Myron Lamm, Mrs. Fern Saurbaugh; Mrs. Mildred Jacobus, Mrs. Paul Lottman and Mrs. Whitnah H. Barton, board members. Mrs. Dannie Moore is the new Gift Shop manager. There are 71 active members in the League who pay dues and volunteer their time to work in the Gift Shop and on the Gift Shop cart. Mrs. Dale Wellbaum reported the puppet committee, consisting of 126 members, donated 464 hours to make 769 puppets last year. These puppets are given to the children in the Pediatrics Ward. The puppet committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Congregational Church. Mrs. James Blakeley is chairman. President Mrs. William Page, who was unable to attend due to illness, will name her committee chairmen at the next dinner meeting.
