Waste placed in a cell at Prairie View Recycling and Disposal Facility, Joliet, is covered
by a layer of soil at the end of each operating day. This landfill is located at the former
Joliet Arsenal. An 8.06 acre area opened in January 2004; and another 5.76 acre area
opened the following March.
