Nab the Aquatic Invader! is a fun way to learn about aquatic invaders.
By using this site you can check out lots of unusual species that cre-ate
real problems in the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf and Great Lakes
regions. There are many ways that this site can help with class projects. By
doing the activities and playing the games on this site, you will learn about
nature and be inspired to help the environment by “nabbing” these pesky crit-ters
and seeing that you can make
a difference. Site produced by Sea
Grant and NOAA. Go to www.

Invasive Species Trunks
Provide Tools for Teachers
With this resource trunk produced
by the Department of Natural
Resources, you and your students can
learn why invasive species are detrimen-tal,
how they arrived in Illinois and what
actions can be taken to control them.
Field guides, books, lessons, DVDs,
specimens, replicas and other items are
included. Targeted grades: 7-12. All
lessons are correlated to the Illinois
Learning Standards. Lending locations
are found statewide. These trunks were
developed by the DNR Education Sec-tion
in cooperation with the DNR Office
of Resource Conservation and educators
at the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant program
