Camping fees
Due to significant increases in utilities and other operating
costs, DNR has implemented an increase in the utility fee
assessed at state-managed campgrounds. The previous utility fee
of $5 per day has been increased to $10 per day for each camp-site
where electricity is provided.
The base camping rate for all campsites has not changed
except for a $10 per day increase in campsite fees for Class AA,
Class A and Class A Premium campsites for the Fourth of July and
Labor Day holiday weekends only. Those campers with reserva-tions
for holiday weekends who do not wish to retain those
reservations should contact that campground’s site office for
refund information. Senior citizen, disabled person, former pris-oner
of war and special armed forces discounts still apply to the
base camping rates.
For more information on all DNR camping fees, visit www.

Firewood ban
Visitors to DNR sites are
reminded of the ban on
firewood from any area where
a quarantine has been imposed
in an effort to limit the spread
of the emerald ash borer.
The ban on firewood from
EAB quarantine areas is intend-ed
to help limit the spread of
the emerald ash borer, particu-larly
to state parks, fish and
wildlife areas, conservation
areas, recreation areas, natural
areas and other lands owned
or managed by the DNR. Visi-tors
may be asked to forfeit
their firewood by site or camp-ground
personnel if the fire-wood
is from an EAB quaran-tine
area. The sale or distribu-tion
of firewood at DNR sites
is banned unless authorized in
writing by DNR.
Help stop the spread. Don’t
move firewood. Buy locally
and burn locally. For more

Help wildlife,
save fuel
Help wildlife—and save
fuel—by delaying all but
essential mowing of roadsides
and other grassy areas until
after Aug. 1, the end of the
nesting season for grassland
wildlife such as pheasants,
quail, rabbits, mallards and
songbirds such as mead-owlarks,
dickcissels and
grasshopper sparrows. Mow-ing
earlier can destroy nests
and young, as well as adults
tending the nests.
DNR operates programs to
establish and maintain grassland
areas for wildlife on rights-of-way
and private land. Contact
the DNR Division of Wildlife
Resources at (217) 782-6384 for
more information.
