THIS INDENTURE MADE AND ENTERED INTO THIS 17th day of March in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine between James Crawford of the
county of Randolph and the state of ILLINOIS of the First Part and Isaac Henry Hayes of
the county of Randolph and state of ILLINOIS of the second part, witnesseth, that the
said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars, in hand
paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell convey,
and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all and
singular the following described LAND, situate, lying and being in Randolph County and
State of Illinois and designated as follows Lots numbered three and four in Block
Numbered Seventeen and Lot No. Six in Block No. Eighteen & Lot No three in Block
No. nineteen in the town of Eden in the county and state aforesaid. Together with all and
singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise
appertaining, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described premises, unto the said
party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part,
the aforesaid premises unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns,
against the lawful claim or claims of all persons whomsoever, and will warrant and
forever defend by these presents.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand
and affixed his seal the day and year first herein written.

STATE OF ILLINOIS, Randolph County. I, the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace
within and for the said County, do hereby certify, that James Crawford, whose signature
appears to the foregoing DEED OF CONVEYANCE, and who is personally known to me
to be the identical person whose name is subscribed to said Deed, as having executed the
same, this day appeared before me, and acknowledge that he had signed, sealed, and
delivered the said, as his free act and deed for the uses and purposes therein expressed.
