| Description | This is an interview of Ethelyn (Meints) Wager of Towanda, Illinois. Ethelyn tells of her family's move to Towanda from Kansas with her husband's employer, the Barton Corporation, a road construction company involved in building U.S. Route 66; how Barton built their headquarters where Alexander Manufacturing is currently located; reorganizing a Girl Scout troop around 1961; and about her husband leaving Barton Corporation in 1968 and starting the Wager Transfer business. People mentioned in Ethelyn's interview include: husband Ray; sons Dennis and Donald (deceased); daughter Gail; and Towanda school principal Ben Cottone. There are two photographs of Ethelyn, one taken in 2007 and the other at age 20. The interview lasts approximately 12 minutes. |
