At attention stood member of the 192nd Tank Batallion on home soil, and Bataan seemed far distant them. Now, for the thrid year, Maywood honors the 137 young men who swung off a transport at Manila, and who checked repeated onslaughts to the Jap army on Bataan until they were compelled to surrender. In this year of the war, when many local men are serving on strange soils, those at home frind that commemoration of the men who fought on Bataan emerges as a larger symbol of those fighting everywhere.
