A Victorian-type Christmas tree, planned by Mrs. Merle Malden and decorated
through the courtesy of the Springfield Civic Garden Club, is in the Museum's
art gallery. It stands beside a walnut secretary (ca. 1865) made by Ernst S. Gehl-
man of Springfield, Illinois.
