Huntley Jaycees Sponsor Blood Drive
By Melissa Cavill
Get ready to donate! On Tuesday, August 23rd from 3-7pm at the American Legion in Huntley, Heartland Blood Centers will be taking your blood!
The Huntley Jaycees are sponsoring a blood drive to be held by Heartland Blood Centers to keep their supply up during the slow summer months. Since people are usually busy with vacations and other fun activities, fewer people tend to donate during the summer months. On the flip side of the coin, since people are so busy with vacations and other fun activities, more accidents occur during the summer months.
Those who have donated in the past can expect to receive a reminder call a few days before August 23rd. The Huntley Jaycees will be calling about 100 people to remind them to give blood. In addition to reminders, the Jaycees have begun hanging posters all over town, in an effort to recruit new donors.
