In Game 1, Huntley hosted Prairie Grove in a very close game that ended with Huntley losing 38-46. The top scorer in the game was Pat Kalamatas with 10 points; Andrew Kowalski followed closely with 8; Hugh McGinley had 6; Jason Shambo had 4; and Daryn Kafka, John Lawrence, Daren Crabill, JasonKalsow and Scott Raybourne contributed 2 points each. Game 2 took the Huntley Royals to Zion Lutheran School, where they finished 33-42. Crabill racked up 11 points, while Kalamatas had 8; Kalsow, Kowalski and McGinley brought 4 points each, with Wes Hartman adding 2. In game 3, Huntley traveled to Fox River Grove, determined to win their first game ofthe season. It was close, with Crabill having the season high with 15 points; Kalamatas added 14; Kalsow and Kowalski each gave 6; with McGinley adding 2. The Royals Sixth Grade cheerleaders cheer on the Huntley Royals at a recent game. (Lto R) Carissa Trent, Jenny Hahn, Sadie Wych, Emily Skaja, Erin Borhart, Courtney Schiesher and Vicky Galloway. gave it all they could, but in the last 2 seconds. Fox River Grove's Cooper shot 2 free-throws that were good, and that gave them the win. In the 4th game of the season, Huntley lost to Riley 3 9 to 5 3, in spite ofKalsow'sdramatic 17 points. Other contributors i n this game were Crabill with 8; Lawreiice and Kowalski with 4each; andKalamatasandMcGinley with 3 points each. Huntley Senior Citizens plan to help the needy At their last meeting, the Huntley Senior Citizens voted to bring a can or box of non-perishable food to help those less fortunate. This food is to be brought to the club's Christmas party on December 14th at the First Congregational Church at 5:30. All donations will be given to the Grafton Food Pantry and distributed by them. Reservations for the club's Christmas party can be made until December 8th. The cost is six dollars. Don't forget that gift certificates are available. Huntley Park District presents meeting minutes The regular meeting ofthe Huntley Park District was called to order by President Yerke at 7:10pm Wednesday, Nov. 29,1995. In attendance were President Yerke, Commissioners Tures, Awe, and Borhart, Attorney Cowlin, Betsey Warrington, Paul Ostrander and Mayor Dhamer. Dr. Awe moved, Mr. Borhart seconded, to approve the minutes of the previous meeti ng and the monthly |reasurer's report. Motion passed. Mayor Dhamer spoke tothe group aboutthe possibility ofthe four taxing bodies in Huntley purchasing the Deicke farm. Questions were also asked of him conceming the sewage treatment at the Inland development and future roads leading to the new school. Mrs. Wright entered the meeting at 7:00. The monthly billswere presented. Mr.Tures moved. Dr. Awe seconded, to approve payment of these bills. The motion passed with Commissioners Tures, Awe, Borhart. and Yerke voting yea, none voting nay, and Commissioner Wright passing. Paul Ostrander reported on employee insurance, the new ice rink, and vandalism. Vandalism included the flag at 01' Timer'sPark being stolen, the portable washroom was tipped over, and gang graffiti was painted on the walls of the outside washroom at Deicke Park. The Park Board is gratefiil to Doug Borhart for lending us his wagon for the hayride and to Bob Tures for his major contribution in renovations done at OI'Timer's Park. President Yerke commended Paul and his stafFon the Christmas decorations. Betsey Warrington reported on the staff / volunteer dinner held Nov. 17th, IPRA conference and available land for purchase. The Nov. 1995 receipts have increased. $6,800.00 Nov. 1994. Committee reports included obtaning estimates on asphalt and brick for portions of the driveway, the computerized registration program and employee insurance. Dr. Awe moved, Mrs.Wright seconded, that the administrator of the present employee insurance plan hold an annual meeting with the eligible employees to decide if they want the additional benefits, at the cost to the insured. If the decision to have these additional benefits is not unanimous, it will negate the additional benefits for all. Motion passed. Old Business: none New Business:President Yerke moved to approve an ordinance for the issuance of a General Obligation Bond for $42,570.00. Mrs.Wright seconded the motion and the motion passed. Mrs. Wright moved, Dr. Awe seconded, to approve an ordinance for the issuance of a General Obligation Limited Bond for $7,900.00. Motion passed. The tax levy was reviewed and after discussion the Board determined the k\j tobe $317,200.00 with the bonds. . .MnoiH)cejnent.s;Jhe December. meeting willbe held Monday. Dec. 18, 1995. at 6pm. The regular meeting date is being changed due to the holidays. Mrs. Wright moved, Mr. Borhart seconded, to adjourn into executive session. Motion passed. The executive meeting was adjourned on a motion by President Yerke, seconded by Mrs.Wright. Motion passed. It was moved by Mrs.Wright, seconded by Mr.Tures. to reconvene the regular meeting. Motion passed. Mrs. Wright moved.Mr. Borhart seconded to adjourn the regular meeting at 10pm. Motion passed. Here, John gives some of the coats back to Betsey Warrington, President of the Kiwanis Club, who will take them to the Grafton Tqwnship Supervisor's ofiFice.
