Village Board
The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Thursday, September 14, 1989, in the Board Room of the Village Hall and called to order by the President at 8:00 P.M.
Present were President Dhamer, Trustees Wicke, Borowicz, Hoeft, Gow, and Russ with Trustee Greve being absent at roll call. Also attending were Attorney Kukla, Village Engineer Schwegel and Police Chief Rossi, as well as Village Auditor North.
The minutes of the Public Hearing and regular meeting of August 10, 1989 were presented and there being no additions nor corrections. Trustee Hoeft made a motion, seconded by Trustee Russ, to approve the minutes as presented and roll noted all ayes and the motion carried.
Financial reports were then examined. Thereafter, a motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Borowicz, to approve the Treasurer's Report as submitted, and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried.
The bill review for current expenses was next to come before the Trustees. A motion was made to authorize the Clerk to make payment of all submitted by Trustee Hoeft, seconded by Trustee Russ, and upon roll call, all voted aye and the motion carried. A listing of same is attached hereto.

Century Title to make payment
of $327,214.00 to Seagren and
Shales as payout #5. All
voted aye and the motion
carried. In the next order of
business the President was
presented on behalf of the
Village of Huntley by
Northern Illinois Gas
Company, Mr. Herda, with a
plaque honoring the Village
of Huntley appreciating the
75 years of service by the
Gas Company.
Next, the Bernat final
plans were brought before the
Board, noting this was the
first phase of the
subdivision south of Smith
Drive, consisting of twenty

Lions Plan Candy Day.
Huntley Lions Club members attended the Lions Jamboree to plan the Candy Day Event, hear strategies and obtain funds. They listened as beneficiaries of Lions' various programs and projects told of the help they have received through Lions. To show support of establishing a library district for the Huntley area, the Huntley Area Library District Committee is giving away yellow ribbon.
You may tie it around a tree, bush, on your home, etc. This display of support will also remind people to vote YES on the Nov. 7th ballot for a Huntley Area Librarylll So tie a yellow ribbon....
Huntley High School is knee deep in plans for the upcoming Homecoming celebration which will officially begin on October 10, and these plans include YOUI
The oRicial Homecoming Volleyball game will be Tuesday evening, Oct. 10 at 5:00 against Genoa-Kingston. It will be a "pack-the-place" game - no admission will be charged and YOU will be a welcome addition on the bleachers.
Float building will take place on Tuesday ii Wednesday evening from 4:00-9 and on Thursday from 3:00-6. These floats will appear in the Homecoming parade on Friday afternoon at 2:00 and also in the "Parade of Floats" to precede the Varsity Homecoming football game.
A pep j-ally for YOU will begin 7:00 Thursday evening in Delaney Gym. The pep band and color guard will perform, the Homecoming court will be announced, the King and Queen will be crowned — and we will CHEER our teams on to victory! Adding to the enjoyment for the evening will be the Booster Club

refreshment stand. Beginning at 6:30 they will be selling pizza, nachos, hot dogs, and drinks which will certainly soothe the throats of the cheering fans. The bonfire will follow in the parking lot south of Delaney Gym.
Friday is the "Big Day".^ The High School will be dismissed at 2:00, just in time for the parade which will begin at the school and wind its way downtown and back again to the school.
YOU will be the special guests at the Frosh/Soph Homecoming football game against South Beloit which begins at 4:30 and the Varsity game against Valley Lutheran which begins at 7:30. There will be no charge for the football games - just be there and lend your support. The Booster Club will again be on hand to provide you with suitable nourishment for CHEERING the Redskins on to victory.
The Homecoming Dance to be held at the grade school gym on Saturday evening October 14 from 7:00-11:00 will end the exciting week of Homecoming festivities. We hope YOU have a good time.
•Senior Center 10th Anniversary
National 4-H Week 1989
Seniors gather every Thursday at the Senior Center where a meal is served and social activities are enjoyed.
On October 19th the Huntley Senior Center will begin its 10th year serving the Senior Citizens of the Huntley area. Founded by Director Louise Kreutzer and funded solely by contributions, the Center serves meals and provides social activities each Thursday to approximately 35 seniors.
Nancy Grimes and Doris Ball are part of the cooking team and are also on the Board of Directors. Other board
members are Vera Swanson and Donald Hardy.
The board invites the community to join them on the 19th at 12 noon for their anniversary celebration. Reservations are required and should be made by Tuesday, the 17th, by calling 669-6892 or 669-5012.
With the support of the Huntley community, we hope to continue providing services to our Seniors for many, many more years.
The Club Leaders are pictured (clockwise from back row left): Bill & Rosemary Becker (14 yrs.), Rae & Elmer Meyer (24 yrs.), John & Pam Morzos (2nd yr.), Brian Sagar & Sheri Seibold, McHenry County 4-H Extention Advisors, & Mrs. Henry Marlowe, leader and friend of 4-H for many years. Not pictured is Sheryl Stier, who will begin her first year as a leader.
October 1st through 7th is National 4-H Week and the Huntley Harvestor's 4-H Club has just begun it's SIXTY- THIRD YEAR. The Harvestor's is the oldest 4-H Club in McHenry County and one of the very oldest in the State of
Illinois, Chartered in 1926. The Club meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Social Hall of the Congregational Church. All boys and girls from the age of 8 to 19 are welcome to join.
