Huntley Planning Commission Minutes Of October 8, 1990
Sam Lumia, Jack Daum, George Bernat, Frank Gerardi & Jim Fitch look over plans for the new building in Bernat Industrial Center.
Tuesday Bernat Development Co. officially welcomed Fitch & Gerard Inc. to Bernat Industrial Center and to Huntley.  Plans were reviewed and the half completed building was inspected by George Bernat, Jim Fitch, owner, Frank Gerardi, owner, Jim Daum, leasing agent with Realty World Town & Country, and Sam Lumia, architect and builder of Mount Prospect.
Fitch & Gerard Inc. is moving from its present location in Elk Grove Village.  The company is a
precision metal fabricator with 30 employees.  They do much of their work for AT&T and Bally.  The relocation will allow the company to expand to 38-40.
Fitch & Gerard Inc. will occupy 16,000 sq. ft. of the building's total 32,000 sq. ft.  A second tenant. International Water &. Werks of Carpentersville, will lease 9600 sq. ft.  The remaining 6400 sq. ft. has yet to be leased and can be sub-divided to 2-3200 sq. ft. spaces.
The regular monthly meeting of the Huntley Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Wilmer Rohlwing. Those members of the board present were Ron Hahn, Paul Mercer, Ed Domagalski and Jack Daum. Also present was Village Adminstrator Kraus.
The minutes of the September 10, 1990, meeting were read. Mr. Domagalski moved, Mr. Daum seconded to approve minutes as read. Motion carried.
Mr. Schachtner entered the meeting at this time.
The first order of business was presented by Mr. Orville Brettman seeking approval of the Final Plat for Mitzlaff's Addition to Huntley. The Preliminary was approved by the Village Board and there have been no changes since then.
Mr. Schachtner moved that the Huntley Planning Commission recommend to the Huntley Village Board to accept the Final Plat for Mitzlaff's Addition to Huntley and to have Chairman sign mylar. Mr. Mercer seconded. Roll call vote was as follows: Mercer, aye; Domagalski, aye; Schachtner, aye; Daum, pass; Hahn, nay; Rohlwing, aye. There being four (4) ayes, one (1) nay and one (1) passing vote, motion carried.
He Did It!   He Won $100,000 on Fortune Hunt!
Wally Lesniak says "It hasn't quite sunk in yet" that he won the $100,000 on last week's episode of $100,000 Fortune Hunt 9.
Lesniak, a Woodcreek resident of Huntley, was chosen to be a contestant by state lottery officials.  He and his wife, Wendy, appeared on the show Saturday, Oct. 13 at 6:30pm on WGN Channel 9. The couple could have Won
from $1500 to the show's grand prize, $100,000. Fortunately, Lesniak was lucky enough to win the big money.  Lesniak says, being on the show was "a once-in-ia-lifetime experience."
What do the Lesniak's plan to do with the money?  Wally says they plan to build a home on Coyne Station Road and "pay off our bills."
The next order of business was presented by Ms. Nancy Braun of the McHenry County Housing Authority seeking Preliminary and Final Plat approval for Phase II of Green Trees. They received approval of these plans from all boards back in 1987, but couldn't get into sewer treatment plant. Since then ordinance has changed and have recently been informed thejf need a PUD approval. These are the exact same plans as approved prior. This will be funded by the Farmer's Home Administration and is strictly for the elderly.
They plan to take out present dumpster and put road through   to Donald Drive, which will make a circular
drive. There is plenty of green area so if they ever need more parking, they could accommodate. Their present project had provided 1-1/2 stalls per unit, but lot is never full. This phase of project they are providing one stall per unit and are sure will be enough.
Administrator Kraus said he is waiting approval from our Village Engineer. His only concern is they have two acres of land, but the buildings are not set on the lot to meet lot yard requirements. Ms. Braun added that was because they designed it to meet the old ordinance. She also said her engineers are talking to Engineer Schwegel on the storm drainage.
