By Joyce Liput Huntley Factory Shops Donates $2,800 to Huntley Band and Chorus Huntley Factory Shops Outlet Mall donated $2,800 to the Huntley High School Band and Chorus for providing evening and weekend gift wrapping services to shoppers during the holiday season, announced Miles Crawford, the center's general manager. The students wrapped gifts to earn their way to a Boston music competition that will take place later this year. Huntley Factory Shops offered customers FREE gift wrap when they purchased at least $50 wordi of merchandise at any of the stores in the mall. Wrappers were kept busy, wrapping a total of 5,391 gifts during the promotion that ran from Saturday, November 16, through Sunday, December 22. Some of the most popular items to be wrapped included national sports team starter jackets, robes, sweaters and shirts. "This has been one of the most well-received programs offered at the mall," said Crawford. "We are thrilled that we were able to provide customers with free gift wrapping and while, al the same time, helping Huntley High School." Huntley Factory Shops is located at the intersection of 190 and Rt. 47 in Huntley, IL. Huntley Chamber Awards Dinner The Huntley Area Chamber of Commerace held the annual Dinner Dance and awards ceremony last Saturday evening, January 18 at the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin. Do phrases like these sound famihar, as they echo around your computer at home? Wouldn't it be great to quadruple the fun, playing with four people at once on the hottest new games? That's just what you can do at "The Backroom," which is located in the back room of The Carpet Store in Hundey. If you've played, or listened to others play, you know they always have more fun when playing widi friends instead of just against the computer. The Backroom is a four computer set up that links each player so they can enjoy four dmes as much fun. The Backroom was established by Tom Smrt, owner of The Carpet Store, to give people a place to enjoy that kind of fun here in Huntley. "Human interaction is more fun than human/computer interaction," Tom says, "and we have a no smoking, no swearing environment here," so parents know it's an OK place to let their family spend dme. "I saw there was a need and I'm trying to fill it," he said. But it's not just for kids. Adults like to play games too, and are always welcome. Computer games are entertainment for die whole family.
