John Frieburg, President of Harris Bank Huntley, 1997 President of the Huntley Chamber of Commerce, recently resigned due to a job promotion and transfer. He has been named president and chief executive officer of Harris Bank Arlington- Meadows.

Travel, will finish out John's term as President. Jan Hoeft, of Interior Motives will complete Bernice's term as Vice-President.
Nancy Topalovich, Harris Bank Huniley; Pete Lemanis, McHenry Savings Bank; and R. Scott Sutherland, Freund International have been appointed to fill the remaining board vacancies.
New Stores Open at Factory Shops
Huntley Factory Shops announces the opening of three warehouse stores: The Book Market and Famous Brands Housewares Clearance Center.
"These warehouse stores are offering extremely reduced prices on discontinued and over-run stock, resulting in an incredible buy for our customers," said Miles Crawford, general manager of the outlet center.
The Book Market offers an extensive selection of over 150,000 hard and soft cover books, al! at $3 and less. This store is a division of the largest retailer of bargain books in the nation. As a special incentive to help promote literacy and advocate reading, all teachers receive an additional 15% discount off the
already low price. The Book Market will be open through September 15.
Famous Branks Housewares Clearance Center, a division of Lechters and will be open through September 30. This is the first time the company has combined clearance from several stores into one location.
Huntley Factory Shops features more than 55 manufacturers' outlet stores offering discounts off suggested retail prices. Amenities include an enclosed food court, children's playground, ATM machine, FREE parking and su-oller use, and a customer service center.
Huntley Factory Shops is located South of Huntley at the intersection of Route 47 and 190.
New Huntley Teen Center to Open Monday
The Huntley Park District is pleased to announce the opening of the new Teen Center on Monday, August 5 The new Teen Center is located at Park Center East, 11179 Dundee Road (next to the Police Station.
The Huntley Park District's new Teen Center is designed to give teens a variety of activities as well as provide a safe place for teens to get together with friends.
Admission to the Center will be FREE until August 22!!!

Beautiful Yard Contest Winners Announced
The judging is finished and Huntley's 2nd annual "Most Beautiful Yard" Contest is over. The Growing Scene, Inc. Nursery & Garden Center and Huntley Park District, who sponsor the contest, have announced the winners.
First Place goes to Jerry and Gail Nepermann for their beautiful yard at 11108 Sunset Drive. They will receive a $30 gift certificate. In second place are Dick and Barbara Michelsen of 11309 Reed Rd., winning a $20 gift certificate. Earning a $10 gift certificate for third place are Jim, Sandy and Jacki Greve of 11403 Reed Rd. All the gift certificates are good for plants from The Growing Scene, Inc. located at 17009 Harmony Rd., (west of Huntley, near Rt. 20), 669-0023, owned and operated by Kathi Carr of Huntley.
The contest judges were Shirley Wiesneth, last year's Most Beautiful Yard winner, and Charlie Becker, Master Gardener through the McHenry County Extension office of the University of Illinois.
McHenry County Fair 1997
The McHenry County Fair is being held this week on the Fairgrounds at the corner of Country Club Road and Route 47 in Woodstock. It runs through August 3.
In addition to the traditional midway attractions, horse shows and livestock judging, this year's fair features several exciting performers. The Silhouettes will entertain Thursday night free of charge through the courtesy of the Chicago Tribune. Paul Revere and the Raiders are on Friday night with the Coasters, the Drifters and Platters taking over the main stage on Saturday.
The popular truck and tractor pulls will be staged on Sunday morning with the traditional demolition derby set to wind things up on Saturday night.
"One of the things that makes our fair a little unusual is that we still have harness races," said fair President Ron Hansen. The trotters will be running on Wednesday and Thursday.
Other attractions will include everything from an antique tractor display to chainsaw sculptors Tim and Karen Baker who will carve a variety of life-size figures from otherwise ordinary logs.

Facto ry Shops Offer Gift with Purchase
Huntley Factory Shops will give away a neckcord with charm to customers who present $100 in mall receipts dated from August 1, 1997, while supplies last. Customers may choose from "y"- necklaces, shark teeth, eyeballs, fimo clay hearts and ying yangs.
"This neckcord collection appeals to youths of all ages and will be the perfect accessory for back-to-school," says Debbie Wodrich,    assistant   general
manager/sr. marketing director. Customers will be asked to present their receipts at the customer service center in the food court, or in the mall office. The offer is limited to one per person.
Huntley Factory Shops is located at the intersection of 1-90 and Rt. #47, and is open on Monday through Saturday, 10am - 9pm, and Sunday, from 11 am to • 6 pm.
