Huntley Village Officials Installed
Newly elected officials of the Village of Huntley took office last Thursday, May 8. Pictured above, left to right, are the three new Tmstees, Dennis Beeskow, Erin Anderson, and Charles Sass. They were sworn in by Denise DeBartello, pictured center next to Village President James Dhamer, who was re-elected for a 4th term. Also pictured are Trustees Sue Paulson, Charlie Becker, and Sue Lamb.
God and Country Awards Presented

God and Country Awards were presented on Sunday May 11th at the First Congregational Church. This is a national award, sponsored jointly by Churches and the Boy Scouts of America. This is an award of special distinction for three months of studying areas of religion and citizenship. The First Congregational Church sponsored Cub Pack 167. Huntley Fine Arts Festival Sunday
The Huntley School Fine Arts Festival will be held next Sunday, May 18, from 1 - 5 at the Grade School.
The annual art show will exhibit over 800 works from students of Huntley Elementary, Middle School, and High School art classes. All elementary stu¬ dents will have a piece shown.
All choruses and bands will be holding concerts throughout the aftemoon.
The Middle School will present the play Laffin School at I pm.
Admission is free! You can also cool off with a Homemade Frosty Rootbeer Float for just $1
The event is under the direction of Mrs Norris, Mrs Dennis, Mr Mychdo, Ms Brandt, Ms John, Mr Millen, and Mrs Spencer.

Village of Huntley Announces Spring Clean Up
Huntley residents can dump their garbage and basement junk this weekend during the village's annual "Spring Clean Up."
Dumpsters will be open 8am- 4:30pm on Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, at the public works building, 11415 E. Main St. In addition, a public works employee will be on hand to show equipment and facilities to interested residents.
Residents can dump anything except yard waste, white products (appliances), liquid products and hazardous waste. Public Works Director Jim Schwartz warns residents that they should dump only between allotted times nut before the dumpsters are in place or after they are removed. No one should attempt to climb into a dumpster.
Art Contest Winners Announced
The "Everyday Animals Touch Our Lives" Art Contest was a huge success, with over 250 entries. The contest was judged by local freelance artists.The Huntley Veterinary Hospital would like to thank our judges for their time and effort in judging the contest. The winners were announced on May 8 at the Huntley Grade School. Dr. Stimic presented the Grand Prize awards to Jenny Kim in the grade 3-5 division and Amanda Omiatek in the grade K-2 division.
Adam Borhart and Christina Skalak were the 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively in the 3-5
division. Grechen Bachrodt and Christopher Spitzock were the 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively in the K-2 division. (Pictured Above) With so many entries, we decided to also award Honorable Mention to the entries which made it to the finals. In the 3-5 division. Miniature Golf Fundraiser
Huntley Area Communities Against Gangs is sponsoring a Miniature Golf fundraiser on Sunday, May 18 at noon at Wesdand Golf.
Teams of four children will be assigned to play along with members of the Huntley Fire Department and Huntley Police Department.
All monies raised through this fun-filled, family style outing will be used to continue and supple¬ ment various CAG programs such as teen dances, safety information, and the Block Watch Program.

Chamber Golf Outing May 21
The Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Golf Outing on Wednesday, May 21. This event is open to the public. It will be held at the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin.
The outing begins at 8:45 with a shotgun "scramble" start. Golf will be followed by an awards luncheon in the clubhouse. There will be scored and door prizes, including a CAR, sponsored by King Chevrolet and Harris Bank Huntley.
