The "Bluecoats" are coming to the Huntley Grade School from their home town of Canton, Ohio this weekend. The Bluecoats drum and bugle corp, with a 72-member horn line, will stay overnight in the Huntley Grade School and practice their routines on the school's football field. They start practice Friday at 9:30, then practice again on Saturday. The Bluecoats stayed several nights in Huntley last year and entertained many of the local residents during their practices. If you missed them last year, come be amazed at one of this year's practices. The Bluecoats are on their way, along with other drum it bugle corps from the Midwest and Canada, to the Northern Illinois University's Huskie Huntley Area Library Library Minutes The Huntley Area Library District Board met on July 11, 1990 at 7:30 pm at the Huntley Park District Board Room. The meeting was called to order by board president, Mr. Ruth. The following members were present; Mrs. Crabill, Mr. Drendel, Mrs. Kloempken, Mrs. Kohley, Mr. Ruth, Mrs. Sheets. Mrs. Kohley moved, Mrs. Kloempken seconded to approve the minutes of the June meeting as written. 5 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried. Financial report was not given in the absence of the treasurer. Committee reports were given. Policies/By-Laws: Mrs. Sheets discussed donation policies which are covered in the By-Laws. Friends of the Library: Mrs. Kloempken shared the thank Stadium on Friday & Saturday, July 20-21. The preliminary competition will begin at 8pm Friday for the top seven largest corps and continue all day Saturday, 8 am until late afternoon. Championship fmals begin at 7:30 pm Saturday, featuring the top 13 corps representing all categories. Tickets for NIU's Huskie Stadium may be purchased at the gate or in advance by calling the DCM ticket office in Milwaukee, Wis., 414-761- 1997, or in person locally at Johnson's Men's Wear, 216 W. State St., Sycamore, 815-895- 3355. Tickets for finals are $10, with all seats reserved; general admission prelims tickets are $10 and cover both the Friday night and the all-day Saturday prelims. you note from the park for our participation at the Town Picnic. Old Business: Mrs. Kohley reported on the possible contract proposals with the Crystal Lake Public Library. Mrs. Sheets moved, Mrs. Kloempken seconded to authorize Mrs. Kohley to continue negotiating with Crystal Lake Public Library. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried. Mr. Drendel reported on our proposal to the Huntley City Council requesting a $100 assessment per living unit for developer donations. This will be acted on at their July 12 meeting. New Business: Mr. Drendel moved, Mrs. Sheets seconded to purchase a Directors and Officers Liability Insurance. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried. Mr. McClarren presented the application for a Per-Capita-Aid Grant. Mrs. Kohley moved, Mr. Drendel seconded that the board apply for a Per-Capita-Aid Grant for the fiscal year of 1991. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried. Mrs. Crabill moved, Mr. Drendel seconded to adjourn the meeting. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried. Meeting adjourned. Planning Meeting Minutes The regular monthly meeting of the Huntley Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairman Wilmer Rohlwing on July 10, 1990. Those members present were Jack Daum, Darick Franzen, Ed Domagalski, Robert Schachtner, Ron Hahn and Paul Mercer. The minutes of the last meeting of July 12, 1990, were read. Mr. Franzen moved to accept the minutes as read. Mr. Daum seconded. Motion carried. The first order of business was presented by Attorney Jay Filler, representing Frank Mercuri with revisions on his Preliminary Plan. Letter dated June 11, 1990, from Baxter it Woodman was read. The revised plans are to remove one entrance at the Shoppes of Huntley plan, replace storm sewer from Myrtle Street to the property and make the radius larger on the easterly drive. Every¬ thing else for Mr. Mercuri's project has been approved by the Planning Commission. Mr. Mercer moved to accept Frank Mercuri's Revision of Original Preliminary Plan (approved 1/8/90) approving: 1. elimination of center drive; 2. change of radius of eastern approach; 3. addition of removal and replacement of storm sewer to Myrtle Street; all as per Baxter it Woodman': letter dated June 11, 1990. Mr. Franzen seconded the motion. Roll call vote was as follows: Daum, aye; Franzen, aye; Domagalski, aye; Mercer, aye; Schachtner, nay; Hahn, aye; Rohlwing, aye. There being six (6) ayes and one (1) nay, motion carried. It was noted that Mr. Mercuri published his public hearing notice for the Zoning Board hearing to be held July 11, 1990, in the Northwest Herald'and that this is perfectly acceptable and legal. Petitioners can publish in either the Huntley Farmside Newspaper or the Northwest Herald, or (loth. Orv Brettman and Plote's I I I project were not ready to be heard before the Planning Conunission tonight as originally planned. Will be here in future. A letter from Paul Mercer dated July 6, 1990, to Chairman Rohlwing was read stating briefly, that he wishes he had not voted in favor of the Ludwig Development plan until the Comprehensive Plan was in effect. Copy of such letter is attached to these minutes. July 30 there will be a Comprehensive plan meeting. There was discussion over whether or not developers are required to submit soil use plans to the Village. Mr. Hahn moved to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Mercer seconded. Motion carried.
