Huntley Food Pantry to Receive "Matching Funds" Donation
Feinstein pledges to match all donations of $25 or more to the Huntley Food Pantry
Alan Shawn Feinstein, a philanthropist and founder of the Hunger Program at Brown University, the International Famine Center at Tufts University and the Youth Hunger Brigade, has pledged to match all donations of $25.00 or more made during a 10 day period starting February 4th to food pantries and soup kitchens anywhere in the country feeding the needy.
To qualify, food providers must send a copy of their tax exemptions as proof of affiliation with a tax exempt organization, copies of all donation checks they receive dated between February 4th and February 14th. The organizations full name and address, the total number of checks and their total value in one envelope and postmarked only on February 18th to P.O. Box 2065, Cranston, Rhode Island, 02905.
No exception or inquires. The Feinstein donation check can be expected by the end of March. If donations received by the food pantries and soup kettles equal more than $1 million, the $1 million donated by Feinstein will be equally divided among all qualified respondents.
Listed in "Who's Who in America" Feinstein is a nationally known crusader against hunger. Anyone interested in helping the Huntley Food Pantry "double their money" please make yoiu- $25.00 check donations dated between February 4th to February Uth to the Huntley Food Pantry 10109 N. New Secretary at Huntley Chamber
Milly Ruth, newly reitred from Union Special, has joined the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry as secretary. Milly has lived in the Huntley area all her life and has watched Huntley change and grow. She is available to answer any questions Monday through Friday, 10am-3pm at the chamber office or by phone at 847-669-0166.
Huntley Liquor Commission Meeting Agenda
There will be a meeting of the Liquor Commission of the Village of Huntley on Thursday, January 29, 1998 at 7:00 PM.
The meeting will be at the Village Annex at 11221 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL 60142. The Annex is handicap accessible.
On the agenda is Offies Tap.
Huntley Home & Business Expo
Limited exhibit space is currently available for the upcoming 1998 Home and Business Expo to be held on February 21st and 22nd. The event is sponsored by the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Space is being sold on a first come, first serve basis. Members and non-members are invited to showcase their products and services to the public attendees can sign up to win a trip for two to the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa including all day ski passes at the Mountain Top, round trip limo ride provided by Travelin' Wright Limousine of Crystal Lake, and fresh flowers provided by Huntley Floral.
Mini seminars on a variety of topics will be held on Saturday, February 21st from 11am to 3pm. The Ranger, Bill Cavanagh, will appear in person on Sunday, February 22nd from 1 lam to 2pm. The Ranger has been billed as an impressive Chuck Norris look-a¬ like and has appeared as the cover story on Entertainment Tonight. American Journal and the Jenny Jones Show.
