Summer's end...
... but no back-to-school blues for Huntley students

With the last days of summer upon them, some Huntley children chose to spend their time with the Huntley Park District's K & R Camp. Camp leaders Ken and Rachadd led campers through five days of fun, including track & field, flag football, a free-throw con¬ test, a boot camp day and time at the beach.
Some of the campers, however, did let their thoughts turn toward the inevitable first day of school.
Jessica Hujar was excited about the prospect of returning to school, but said she felt a little "shy" about it.
"I've been bored on summer vacation," she said. "We went to Ohio on vacation but then I've just been watch¬ ing TV."
First-grader Heather Nash is really excited about returning to school too because she enjoys being with her friends and homework. Heather has spent her sum¬ mer taking in places like Dolphin's Cove and Santa's 'Village.
Olivia Stepp isn't just excited about returning to the classroom, she is really excited. Though she spent time away from Huntley visiting the Wisconsin Dells and Tennessee, she is happy to be home and ready to get back into the school routine.
Camper Natalie Nystrom agreed with the other first- graders that the word to define how they felt about going back to school is definitely excited. Natalie didn't list "homework" as something she was excited about getting back to like Heather did, but she does look for¬ ward to being with all her friends.
"And recess," she added.
