The electioa held last Tuesday, April 2ad, was m fact a surprise to maay whea the fiaal oouat showed Doa Eastrom aad Jim Dhamer, each with 262 votes. "What happeas aow?" was the question asked by many. The foUowiag paragraph, takea from "The Haadbook for Local Election OfiBcials" may shed some light. NOTE: When two or more candidates receive the highest and equal number of votes for a
particular office, the canvassteg board must ooaduct a lottery to break the tie aad detennine the nomteee. Such board whall issue a notice m writteg to die persoas of tfae tie statiag the place, day aad hour where the lottery will be ooacucted. The lottery must be ooadacted withte 5 days of such notice.
