On Wednesday, November 21, Thanksgiving Eve, The First Congregational Church of Huntley had^ much to be thankful for. They celebrated the final payment of the remodeling of the church and the addition of the sodal hall and basement by having a mortgage buming. The original building committee was present. They are Mr. & Mrs. Gene Lindsey, Mr. Sc Mrs. Herbert Eggers, Mt. Sc Mrs. Oyde Bakley and Mr. Sc Mrs. Ed Piske. and Mr. Henty Gariieb, Treasurer. Dr. Robert Frank was the initiating pastor.
Each of the committee had a part of the mortgage which they burned. Rev. Roger Mealiff omducted the service while the youth and adult choirs sang.
Herb Eggers reviewed some of the things that the chun^ has accomplished in the past 30 years such as:
In 1951 new pews and a new altar were installed.
In 1957 the new social hall was built.
In 1964 the new parsonage was built.
In 1966 the new organ was installed.
In 1967 the church sanduary was carpeted.
In 1968 the first ofthe handbells wer purchased.
In 1970 the church was remodeled and the basement was put in.
In 1977 more handbells were purchased.
In 1979 the mortgage was burned and the church is once again debt free in their building fund.

The Huntley Senior Citizens are giving away their home¬ made Quih on Deeetnber 6th at 8 P.M. at the VUlage Board Meeting. Mayor Don Enstrom will draw the triankig number. The quilt will be on disi^ay.at the Meet Sc Eat Center, Trinity Lutheran Churdi on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday next week. Tickets for the give away are available from any of the Seniors ot from Chairman Kate Boncosky.
TRIPGIVEAWAY
Again this year Huntley Merchants and the Huntley Farmside will be giving away a Trip for Two to Pheasant Run in St. Charies for the 1st place prize. The trip includes dinner on Friday night at either the Bakers Wife or the Smugglers Cove; 2 tidtets for the Dinner Theatre pn Saturday night and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday moraing. Besides all the good food and entertainment, there is a swimming pool, game room and a variety of small shops on a cobblestone lane.

Rev. Charies W. Kittel will be installed as Pastor of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Chnrch, Huntley, on Sunday evening, December 2 at 7:30 P.M. Members and friends of Trinity are invited to attead the Installation Service. A reception will be hied for PastOT aod Mrs. Kittel and family after the service. Rev. Kittel's flrst service will be December 9th.
PastOT Charies W. Kittel was bora in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 9,1943, the sou of Werner and Agnes Kittd. He went to sdiool in Baltimore and attend¬ ed Redeem|^ Lntberan Church where he was confirmed.
Upon graduatkm from High School in 1961 he entered BahimOT Jr. College.
After God's Spirit led him to pursue the ministry as a vocatkm, he entered Coodocdia SeniOT College b Ft. Wayne, Inc., for his pre-theological tramhig. In 1966 he received his B.A. degree and continued his studies at ConoOTdia Seminary ia St. Louis, Mssouri.
