WHEREAS, CHRIS BUNDGARD was born one hundred years ago on September 3, 1887, in South Droaby, Mors, Denmark, and came to the United States in 1907, and to our village as a farmer in 1947; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Huntley, McHenry County, Illinois, have noted this centenarian with a great deal of pride; and
WHEREAS, the said CHRIS BUNDGARD has expended untold and innumerable hours in the toiling of his land and in the raising of his family, consisting of five children; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Huntley, McHenry County, Illinois to recognize and congratulate CHRIS BUNDGARD on his 100th birthday; and

Bike For Breath	
Igg's Fox Valley Bike For Breath - September 20th
Thanks to White Sox pitcher Richard Dotson, a Bike-For- Breath to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is coming to the Fox Valley area on Sept. 20th. Dotson, as a re¬ presentative of the National League Baseball Players Association, was asked by Rolaids to recommend a charity to participate in their national drive to raise $350,000 through an $80,000 national sponsorship invest¬ ment by the company.
"We are excited to be designated by Richard Dotson and to host this first time event for Rolaids here in Fox Valley," said co-coordinator and Elgin resident Lori Nolan, "Our goal is to have more than 500 bikers in the Igg's Fox Valley Bike-For- Breath. We want to contribute $25,000 to this national effort."
Nolan and her co-coordina¬ tor, Jim Hennig of Igg's Parkside Tap in Huntley, plan a full day of activity for Igg's Fox Valley Bike-For- Breath.
Bikers, who have solicited pledges for each mile ridden, will begin riding at 9 a.m. at their choice of two bike routes. For adults, a 32-mile run on backroads starts and ends at Igg's Parkside Tap in Huntley. A separate 16-mile run will be held for families along the Fox River Shore Trail North. The Family Run's registration is at 850 Grove Ave. in Elgin.
Minnie Minoso, Hall of Fame second baseman for the White Sox, will host the Family Run. Minoso will judge a bike decorating contest, aa well as officially start the run. Clowns, balloons and other entertainments are also planned.
Each biker is eligible to win prizes based on the amount of pledge money the biker turns in. Among the prizes are T-shirts, bike bottles, six-pack can coolers, and AM/FM Radios with headphones. Bikers will have two weeks after the Bike-For-Breath to collect pledges.

Village  Board Meetmg
The August 13, 1987 Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Huntley was held in the Board Room of the Village Hall and brought to order by the President at 8:20 P.M.
Roll noted President Dhamer, Trustees Wicke, Berlin, Brown, Borowicz and Basel, as well as Attorney Kukla and Village Engineer Schwegel present with Trustee Greve absent. Also attending were Police Chief Rossi, Steve Nimbar, S.T. P. Operator and John Spradlin, Building Inspector.
The minutes of the July 9, 1987 and August 4, 1987 meetings were before the trustees for examination and approvals. The July 9, 1987 minutes stood approved as presented. The August 4, 1987 Special Meeting minutes were cause for some discussion, whereby approved as presented.
Trustee Wicke made a motion, after examination of the Financial Reports, to accept the Treasurer's Report

Public  Hearing
The required Truth in Taxation Public Hearing was called to order on August 13, 1987 by President Dhamer for the purpose of allowing the public to question the percentage increase in the publication.
Present were President Dhamer, Trustee Wicke, Berlin, Basel, Brown and Borowicz with Trustee Greve absent.
President Dhamer asked for any discussion from the trustees; there being none he asked .to hear from the public.
Adeline Kunde spoke asking what the public hearing was for and why would the village want to increase the tax levy by 670%. Trustee Wicke advised  that the taxes are at maximum rate now and reason for the percentage was that the village needed to bring the appropriation and levy back to a realistic figure.
Attorney Kukla entered the meeting and expounded on the issue explaining funds that are governed by the maximum rate and funds matched dollar

lUini Girl Staters will give their reports, its always been a pleasure to hear what they have expe¬ rienced during their stay, they always come back, well informed. Our future Auxiliary leaders.
As a member are you just paying your dues and hoping others are doing your job? The active members are overloaded with two or three chairmanships in order to keep it functioning. Be a mover not a shaker.
We need new members, join now, before dues go up in October.
Assistant Sgt. at Arms is still open. Public Relations need new imput. Ways and Means needs help. Joan Melahn, Ways and Means is seriously ill, too much pressure for only one, volunteer to help. Ways and Means is where we get our funds to do what we can for our Vets, Senior Citizens, Children & Youth, Scholar¬ ships etc.
The Legionaires are plan¬ ning a Pig Roast the 12th of September, Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until its gone. $5,00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12. Carry outs will be available. Beach  Sampling
Water samples collected from swimming beaches -by the McHenry County Dept. of Health on August 25, 1987 were obtained from several beaches in the County.
Those beaches at which the water was found to unsatis¬ factory for swimming are: Emerald Lake - Huntley LeVilla Vaupell - Griswald Lake
West Beach Park - McCullom Lake Highland Shores - Wonder Lake
The Dept. also recommends that persons refrain from swimming for two to three days foUowing a heavy rain.
