Lions Club
The regular meeting of the Huntley Lions Club was called to order on June 9, 1987 by President Hartmann at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion with those members in atten¬ dance as shown on the Atten¬ dance Record and Guest Regis¬ ter. Three guests and 38 mem¬ bers were in attendance.
Guests for the evening were Mike Sands who came with Gary Schultz, incoming President Tessmer had Police Chief Rossi and Officer Azarela as his guest. Barney and May lead us in singing, "In the Good Old Summertime" and "God Bless America". Lion Charlie Lamb led the Pledge and Lion Del led the prayer.
After a delicious meal, "as always," served by the ladies of the Legion, minutes were read and with a motion from Del Borhart and seconded by Kerry Ellison. Minutes were approved. Treasurer's report was given, motion from Joe Schaller for approval, seconded by Norm Brett¬ schneider. The Treasurer's report was approved.
Officer Azarela had to leave the meeting early so he and Chief Rossi gave an informative talk about the different things a police officer has to watch for on patrol. Many things were shown that people use on drugs and robberies. Drugs are one of their biggest objectives. Chief Rossi talked with interested Lions after the meeting.
Norm Brettschneider gave a resume about Jim Weirich and presented him with the plaque naming him Lion of the Year. "Congratulations Jim". Hang onto your wallets Lions, dues are going up. It was voted on in the Directors meeting to raise them to $90 this year and go to $95 next year. Reason for the increase is dues to the International and the price increase for dinners. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Don Tessmer: All set for steak fry. Need reservations by Saturday.
Elmer Britton: Trip for two, tickets are going fine - keep selling.
Joe Schaller: Boat trip was a huge success, everyone who went had an enjoyable time. Continued on page 11

Lioness of the Year
Minutes of Meeting of Huntley Planning Commission June 8, 1987
The regular monthly meeting of the Huntley Planning Com¬ mission was called to order at 8:00 by Chairman Wilmer Rohlwing. Those members of the board present were Tom Jurs. Noel Hansmann and Jack Daum. Also present were Mayor Dhamer and Building Inspector Spradlin.
The minutes of the last meeting of May 11, 1987, were read. Mr. Jurs moved to accept the minutes as read. Mr. Daum seconded. Motion carried.
The agenda was read. The first order of business was presented by Barry Borchart. The board has a copy of his maps showing his plan for 18 acres of the Jim Ervin farm, which would be an extension of Donald Drive. The area would include 32 single- family homes, four six-unit apartments and seven condo¬ miniums. He is planning for 66 foot streets and 9,000 square feet for the single- family lots. Mr. Borchart is looking for concept acception before he goes any further with plans for engineering, etc. He is planning R-5 zoning on north and west side and changing R-5 to R-2 and M-1 to R-5 and R-4. The sewer water and storm sewer is all there and will be accessible. Mr. Borchart is aware of water loops he has to make from Myrtle and Donald Streets.
Mr. Daum moved that the Huntley Planning Commission accept the concept presented by Barry Borchart for his plans for 18 acres on the Ervin farm for 32 single- family homes, four six-unit apartments and seven condo¬ miniums. Mr. Jurs seconded. There being four (4) ayes and no (0) nays, motion carried.
The next order of business was presented by Mr. Terry Todd. He is seeking annexa-' tion to the Village and would like to obtain city water. He already has a septic on his property which he would like to maintain. He would like to maintain his B-3 zoning for his body shop which is pre¬ sently in McHenry County. Mr. Todd would like to be able to build a residence next to the shop. The property is on Powder Park Road and he would like to use Becky Lee Terrace in the future. He has SO foot easement across. He has 1.05 acres and would like to split into four equal sections. He desires an R-S zoning for part of it in case he wants to put in a duplex. The Mayor explained that, if accepted, they would have to work up Annexation Agreement and the Capital Development fee would run from $500 to $1,000 an acre.
Mr. Jurs moved that the Huntley Planning Commission accept Mr. Todd's concept as. presented for his 1.05 acres on Powder Park Road for annexation to the Village of
Marie Fettes has been selected "Lioness of the Year" by her fellow Huntley Lioness. This is a special award which is bestowed upon an outstanding Lioness.
Marie is a charter member and has been active in the local club since its inception in 1979. She has spread much "Sunshine" since that time.
She was on the second place IJ bowling team in January, has helped with the scholar¬ ship awards, and is a wonderful worker at bingo. Creating Easter hats is one of her many talents and she does a great job selling caramel corn.
We are proud to have her as a member of our club.

The next order of business was presented by Mr. Jim Brockmann, contractor for R & R Metals. He discuss with the Commission their plans for an addition to their present building which is now 90 x 125. They would like to add another 75x90. The lot is 150 X 400 feet. They will be using the addition for stor¬ age-and some manufacturing. He does not believe they will be adding any new employees. They will continue with same pitch of roof. The board strongly recommended that R ic R put the debris they have piled up outside, out of sight, either b^ fencing or putting indoors.
Mr. Hansmann moved that the Huntley Planning Commission accept the plans of R & R Metal Crafters for a 75 x 90 foot addition, subject to having the parking lot black- topped and fencing debris which is presently outside, upon completion of such addition. Mr. Daum seconded. There being four (4) ayes and no (0) nays. Motion carried.

Minutes Of A Public Hearing Held June 11, 1987
President Dhamer opened the Public Hearing at 7:30 P.M. held for the purpose of a required public hearing on the 1987-1988 Appropriation Ordinance of the Village of Huntley.
Prese"ht were Trustees Wicke, Berlin, Brown, Borowicz and Greve. Absent Trustee Basel.
The President asked for questions or comments from the floor to which there were none.
There being no questions nor comments, the President declared the Public Hearing adjourned.

Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees
The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Huntley was held Thursday, June 11, 1987, in the Board Room of the Village Hall and called to order by President Dhamer at 8:00 P.M.
Present were President Dhamer, Trustees Wicke, Berlin, Brown, Borowicz and Greve with Trustee Basel absent. Also attending were Attorney Kukla, Village Engineer Schwegel and Building Inspector Spradlin. First order of the meeting was the May 14, 1987 minutes which were before the Trustees for approval. Trustee Greve took exception to the final draft of minutes stating that some of his requests to the Clerk for correction of the original minutes submitted to the Trustees were omitted. He asked for reasons to which he was answered that it was the concensus of the Board to leave the minutes as submitted. Discussion was held regarding the way the minutes are taken, noting minutes have never been a problem prior to the installation of the new Board. A motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Berlin, to accept the minutes as presented this meeting and roll noted: Berlin, aye; Brown, aye; Greve, nay; Borowicz, nay; and Wicke, aye. Motion carried and minutes approved as presented.
Financial reports were also presented and found to be in order by motion by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Brown and roll noted all ayes and motion carried with the Treasurer's Report accepted. Bills were reviewed at this time. A motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Brown, to approve payment of all invoices presented and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and motion carried. At the same time, the Laser Electric invoice #003042 in the amount of $800.00 was presented for permission to take funds from Segregated Fund Account. A motion to this effect was Continued on page 6
