'It's not like Huntley. I like the people here", said Grade School
i Principal, Luke Glowiak about his new job and leaving Huntley.
I Luke recently resigned his position as principal of Huntley Grade
'' School to become the principal at Washington School in Sterling, HI.
^ He will be leaving Huntley on August ISth. He said however that
before he leaves he will make sure that the Grade School is ready for
the school year. Luke stated that he will miss the many friends he
has made in Huntley but interims to ^iaitiroii) time to time.
Mr. Glowiak will be in charge of a grade school K-6. The school serves two towns whose populations combined are between 25,000 to 30,000 people. He will be assuming his new duties on August 18th in time to get ready for the fall opening.
Mr. Glowiak had a lot of praise for Superintendent Bob Bunt and the School Board who be called top notch. He was choosen for his new job out of 46 other candidates and will be receiving a raise in salary.
Dr. Bunt stdd that he waa sorry to see him go and that he wished him luck. He went on to say that he was sure that Luke's new job would be a challenge. Huntley was Mr. Glowiak's first position as principal. Dr. Bunt said that Luke's replacement would probably be working by the time school starts.
He and his wife, Judy and daughter, Kyla, are looking forward to their new home and job.
LONNA JONES RECEIVES MIS HUNTLEY PAGE
Last week the Farmside presented Miss Huntley, Lonna Jones with her signature page and a check for SlOO from the dtizens of Huntley wishing her Good Luck. Lonna will be vidng for the title of Misa McHenty County at the Pair on Wednesday, July 30. Lonna was chosen Miss Huntley at a pageam this year. This was the first time for auch an event in Huntley. She is sponsored by the Huntley Lions and Lioness Gubs.

PEE WEE FOOTBALL SIQNUPAUG.IIth
Once again tbe Huntley Area Jayceea will be sponsoring Pee Wee Football, which is open to all boys in the 6th, 7th, and Sth gradea. The sign up and first practice will be held at the fbotball field on August 11th at 5:30. At this time the boys must be accompanied by a parent and a $25.00 registration fee will be collected. Please have the boys wear a tee shirt and gym shorts. For any further information, please contact Gregg DeDina at 683-3181 after 6:00 p.m.

Commander will be Don Hardy and the new President will be Mrs.
Edward Henry of Woodstock.
HUNTLEY RESIDENTS ATTEND GREEK FESTIVAL ^
Last Saturday k Simday, July 26 k 27, many Huntley residents wete treated to a Greek Festival complete with native food, drink and dancing. The Festival was put on by St. Sophia's congregation and waa held at the Eagle's Oub in Elgin.
Tbere wete games for all ages as well as a large selection of homemade Greek desserts. American food consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers aad popcom was availabe. But most of die crowd chooae ^ deHdous Greek spedalty of Shishkabebs and Gyros. The cooking crew was headed by Himtiey's own Bill Galania of the Village Iim.
As the day tumed to evening, the dancing began with many of the spectators joining in. Sooop O'Brien tried his hand at it.
It was tndy a cultural day and enjoyable to all who attended.

Registration for school in Huntley District #158 will be held on August 12 for elementary students and Aug¬ ust 13 fbr high school students.
Parents should come to the high schooi between 8:30-12:00 A.M. or 1:00-3:30 P.M. to register and pay fees. Students that will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors may register by mail if iromlunization re¬ quirements are up to date.

FIREMEN NEEDED
Fire Chief Phil Freund announced today that the Fire Department needs 4 or 5 new men. If anyone is interested in becoming a Huntley Fireman they should call 669-5146.
SIDEWALK DAY IN HUNTLEY
This year's Sidewalk Day should be better than ever. The Senior Otizen's Kitchen Band will be playing in the downtown Park and a the Huntley Shopping Center. There will be hot dogs sold at the Shop{^g Center for a lundi time treat. Weaver's Organ Store will be supplying more music in the Huntley Center. If any other groups wish to play, they should contact Louise Kreutzer at 669-5657.
So tax this year there will be three e^ibitota in the down¬ town park. If anyone wishes to have a booth they should call Marge O'Brien at 669-S621 by Taesday, August Sth. All spaces are approved by Village Presi¬ dent Don Enstrom.
