CHUCK RUTH'S NAME TAKEN OFF THE TOWNSHIP BALLOT
The following is the decree which removed Chuck Ruth's name from the Township Ballot. This decision was made by Judge Roland Herrmann last Friday morning.
Chuck has informed many Huntley citizens since Friday that he will be a write in candidate for supervisor.
This matter coming to be heard on the petition of Edwin Eckman pursuant to section 10-10-1 of the Illinois Election Code, for judicial review of the decision of the Grafton Township Electoral Board which denied his petition objecting to the nomination of Charles W. Ruth as Independent Candidate for the office of Grafton Township Supervisor the court having heard evidence adduced by the petitioin and by respondent and the court having taken respondent's motion for directive finding under advisement at the conclusion of the petitioner's case, and the court having considered the pleading, evidence and argument of the counsel find as follows:
A. That the petitioner introduced sufficient evidence to carry his burden of proff and the respondent's motion for directive verdict should be denied.
B. That the election code of Illinois does not authorize the filling of a vacancy occasioned by the death of an Independent candidate by less than all of the "persons making the original nomination": that not all of the 50 persons who signed the original nominating petition of Howard C. Ruth participated in the selection of Charles W. Ruth to fill the vacancy created by the death of Howard C. Ruth.
It is ordered, adjudged and decreed as follows:
1. That the respondent's motion for directed filing be and the same hereby denied.
2. That the decision of Grafton Township Electoral Board be and the same as hereby reversed and that the Grafton Township Clerk be and he is hereby ordered to refrain from printing the name of Charies W. Ruth as an Independent Candidate for the office of Grafton Township Supervisor on the official ballot for the April 5, 1977 election of Grafton Township officers.

DONNA BJORN CANDIDATE FOR ASSESSOR WITHDRAWS IN SUPPORT OF CHUCK LAMB
TO THE PEOPLE OF GRAFTON TOWNSHIP
My napie is Donna M. Bjom, last January 1 filed a petition for Assessor of Grafton Township. Much has happened since that time and I did not realize when I filed my petition that Charles Lamb was also a candidate (whom is a good friend of mine) for the
same position ot Assessor. 1 feel that Charles Lamb is more than well qualified for the position of Assessor of Grafton Township. I realize by being on the ballot I may split the vote so that neither Mr. Lamb or myself could be elected. I therefore respectfully request alt my supporters to cast their vote for Charles Lamb as Assessor of Grafton Township. Charles Lamb has been in this Grafton Township many more years than myself, I have been here but 6 years, So I hope the people of Grafton Township will respect my wishes.
Thank you, Donna M Bjom
