Christmas Concert
The annual grade school Christmas Concert was held on Monday, December 21, featuring the wonderful voices of the Kindergartners through sixth graders.
In addition to the choral numbers, a short play called "Sing Out the Season" was performed by a group of sixth graders and the beginning band made their first appearance.
Santa, with the help of some of the local Lions, was featured at the end of the evening. A stocking filled with goodies was given to each of the children attending the concert.
Tuesday evening was scheduled for the High School and Jr. Hi. Chior and Band to perform.
Pentaplex Plant Back in Business
A special Huntley Village Board meeting was held last Thursday evening, December 17, to review and respond to corrections made by Pentaplex Corporation to their waste¬ water treatment plan. The corrections were required by the Village before reconnection of the facility to the Huntley sewer system following discontinuation of service on December 10.
By unanimous vote, the Board agreed to issue a conditional permit to insure continued compliance, to diminish the possibility of repeated similar actions.The permit is to include the following conditions: unannounced inspections twice a month for a probationary period, continued routine inspection of the effiuent, and monthly testing by an oiitside lab. The expense of these inspections and testing will be paid by Pentaplex.
Huntley public works department removed the sewer plug at the Pentaplex plant immediately following the Board action. The system was fully functional again by 11:30 p.m.

Minutes
The regular monthly meeting of the Huntley Planning Commission was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Cnairman Wilmer Rohlwing. Those members of the board present were Paul Mercer, Ron Hahn and Noel Hansmann. Also present were Mayor Dhamer and Building Inspector Spradlin.
Mr. Mercer moved to dis¬ pense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting. Mr. Hansmann seconded. Motion carried.
Mr. Jack Daum entered the meeting at this time.
The first order of business was presented by Mr. Larry Dohrer, Architect for the Sierra Strip Mall proposed for 2.65 acres on Route 47 . across from the Grade School.
Mr. Robert Schachtner entered the meeting at this time.
Mr. Roland Ryall, repre¬ senting the Sierra people said they have presently three stations, one in McHenry County, one in Elgin and one in Crystal Lake. The station they are proposing for Huntley would be either a Union 76 or Phillips 66. This will be with a car wash and mini mart and three stores. Continued on page 19
Senior Citizens Club
Senior citizens club met December 17 for the monthly pot luck and meeting. President Ahrens called the meeting to order andJed the pledge to the flag. Roll call was taken and minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Knaak gave her report which was approved. The committee for January is the Soren Bundgards and Margaret Harbeck. May Chesak played for a sing along of carols and popular Christmas music.

The Huntley Farmside offices will be closed for the holidays, from December 24 through January 3.
Remember, there will be no issue delivered next week. The next regularly scheduled issue of the Farmside is January 7. The deadline for news and advertising for the January 7 issue is Tuesday, January 5 at S:00 p.m.
We at the Farmside thank you for your support in 1987 and wish you and yours all the best of the season.
Christmas Celebrations
The Huntley Lions have been very busy the last few weeks in celebration of Christmas.
They have distributed 468 Christmas stockings at the grade school Christmas concert, 90 goodie bags at Hartland Nursing Home, and 35 gifts at Pioneer Center and to children at Woodstock Hospital.
They also helped the Grafton Township supervisor deliver gifts to some of the less fortunate in the township.
All in all, the Lions spent aproximately $1200 to finance these projects. Thanks to the Lioness who also gave $100 to help with .. these endeavors.
Minutes of Village Board Meeting
The December 10, 1987 Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Huntley was held in the Board Room of the Village Hall and called to order by President Dhamer at 8:00 P.M.
Present were: President Dhamer, Trustees Wicke, Basel, Borowicz, Berlin, Greve and Brown. Also attending were Village Attomey Kukla, Village Engineer Schwegel, members of the Public Works Department and Building Inspector John Spradlin.
The minutes of the November 12, 1987 meeting were brought before the trustees. There being no additions nor corrections, they stood approved as presented.
Financial reports were next on the agenda. Trustee Wicke made a motion to approve the Treasurer's Report as pre¬ sented, seconded by Trustee Greve and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried.
The bills for current expenses were reviewed by the Trustees. Trustee Wicke made a motion to approve for payment the bills presented, seconded by Trustee Basel, and upon roll call, all Trustees voted aye and motion
carried. An invoice from Aqualab in the amount of $620.00 for the Dean Foods Company testing was before the trustees for approval. A motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Brown, to so approve. Roll noted: All ayes with the exception of Trustee Basel, who passed, and the motion carried. At the same time an invoice from Trustee Milford Brown to the Village in the amount of $50.00 for a used refrigerator for samples at the STP was presented. A motion to approve payment of same was made by Trustee Basel, seconded by Trustee Berlin, and roll noted all ayes with the exception af Trustee Brown who passed, and motion carried.
President Dhamer, noting that the agenda would be lengthy, asked for any public comments at this time. There being none, he continued the meeting as follows:
Attomey Hardy came before the Board as attomey for Edna Schinske and Raymond and Marjorie Beneke, with a Mr. Pringle as representative. The matter for consideration was the recommendation from the Huntley Zoning Board of Appeals to the Village Board Continued on page 21
