PARK DISTRICT MINUTES
The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was held on Wednesday, May 24, 1978. The meeting was called to order at 8.00 P.M. by President Tures. Present were; Commis¬ sioners Tures, Borhart and Mackeben. Absent were Com¬ missioners Deicke and Ruth. Atty John Cowlin was also present.
The minutes from the April 26, 1978 meeting were read. Mr. Borhart moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Mackeben. All the Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried.
The minutes of the special meeting held May 17, 1978 were then read. Mr. Tures made a motion to approve the minutes as read, seconded by Mr. Mackeben. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried.
The Treasurer's report was given, showing a balance in the checking account of $38,920.24. Mr. Tures moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Borhart. All Commissioners voted aye an^ the motion carried.    '
Mr. Mackeben made a motion to give a gift certificate to Carol Weirich, seconded by Mr. Borhart. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried.
The President presented the monthly bills for payment. Mr. Borhart moved to pay all bills presented, seconded by Mr. Mackeben. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried.
Attorney Cowlin presented the Department of Labor notifica¬ tion, "Preference to Citizens (Illinois) on Public Works Projects Act" and Wages of Employees on Public Works (Prevailing Wage Act). The board then discussed Ihe pub¬ lications.
Reports were made on the projects in progress.
There being no further business to come before the board, a motion was made by Mr. Borhart, seconded by Mr. Tures, to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 8:57 P.M.

LIONS CLUB BARBEQUE JUNE 18th
Father's Day, June 18. 1978, the Huntley Lions Club will hold its annual Chicken Barbeque at the American Legion. This dinner is the organization's primary money-making project and all members and their wives work deligently to prepare the succulent meal.
Dinner consists of barbequed chicken, home baked beans, potatoes, cole slaw, roll, butter and beverage. To compliment the chicken, which is prepared by the men ofthe club over open barbeque pits, is a special barbeque sauce, prepared from a family recipe of Henry Marlowe, owner of Marlowe's Feed & Hatchery in Huntley. MEMORIAL DAY 1978 IN HUNTLEY

Although intermiltant rain sprinkles may have dampened the ground, they did little to dampen the spirits of the many who attended the Memorial Day parade in Huntlev on Tuesdav. Mav .30th.
Memorial Day ceremonies were conducted by the Huntley American Legion Post #673, The comemoralive observance began with the parade from the Legion Home at 10:30 a.m. to the Huntley cemetary for a pre-planned Patriotic program.
The parade was lead off b\ the Huntley Fire Dept. without sirens blowing this year. Huntley Scouts from each group from Cubs and Brownies to Boy Scouts and Caddette Girl Scouts each had their part fo play in the observances. Every person registering will have the opportunity to enter the drawing to win a brand new HUFFY BICYCLE, donated by the HUNTLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT.
