Adding her congratulations for winning the Toro Electric Snow Thrower was Mrs. Edith Marinangel (right), manager of the S&L office. The Meyers' children, Vanessa, 2, and Nicholas, 3, were also on hand to mark the occassion. LIONS CLUB TOURNAMENT Last Week the Lions Club held their annual tournanrient at the Huntley Grade School Gym. The winners were as follows: Sth & 6th Grade 1st Race-St. Pat 2nd Race - Woodstock 3rd Plaoe- Hampshire 4th Race- St. Thomas Tth & 8th Grades 1st Place-Huntley 2nd Race-St. Joes 3rd Race - St. TTTomas PENQUIN NBAK^ On Feb. 12th the Huntley Penguins gave girl and boy scouts rides on their snowmobiles. There were about SO youngsters that ishowed and they all took turns. While waiting their tum ithey could eitjoy a sjdfety film or refreshments inside tbe Township garage. It was a beautiful day! Also, on Feb. 12th the 2-day Pocker Run finished up at the Bow] Hi Lanes. Everyone gathered there to establish the many winners and eitjoy the food. Many thanks to Hansen Heat¬ ing Sc Plumbing for ftimishing t-shirts at the volleyball benefit. There will be a members meeting on Feb. 21st. RON MARSH NOMINATED OUTSTANDING FFA MEMBER Four outstanding Future Farmers of America members have been nominated by their respective chapters to represent them in a program to determine the "Most Outstanding FFA Member" sponsored by the McHenry County Farm Bureau Young Farmers committee. Certificate will be presented to the young people acknowledging their selection as their chapter's representative. Mrs. Cindy Gardner, program diainnan, will present the winner with a plaque. The presentations will be made Ellen Ervin as they tripped the the Athletic Boosters Valentine at the chapter's annual meetings this spnng. The nominees are: WOODSTOCK: Kathy Hardt, 17, daughter of Mr. Sc Mrs. John Hardt. Her main vocational agriculture project is dairying. HUNTLEY: Ron Marsh, 17, son ofMr.A Mrs. James Marsh. His main project is beef. MARENGO: Joseph Hennfaig. 17, son of Mr. St Mrs. John Henning. His mafai project U swine. HARVARD: Brad Behrens, 17, son of Mr. St Mrs. Howard Behrens. His main project is horticulture. The Farm Bureau uiitfaued this program 4 years ago. Previous winners include: 1977, Allen Sdiuhz. Marengo. 1976, John Henning, Marengo. 1975, Retard Hemmfaigaen, Union. ^ SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley, HI. was held in the High School Library at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9,1978. President Mrs. Livingston call¬ ed the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members answering pre¬ sent upon roll call were: Mrs. Pawl, Mrs. Koppie, Mrs. Living¬ ston, Mr. Pupich, Mr. Grismer, Mr. Brettschneider, and Mr Zirk. 1. A motion to approve of tl.^ minutes of the Jan. meeting <>> presented was made by Mr^ Pawl and 2nd by Mrs. Koppie yeas, o nay. Motion carried. 2. Since there was no furth activity concerning docume.' T-1-77, the President called for motion to approve the minutes the Dec. 13, special meeting. M: Pupich so moved and M Brettschneider 2nd the motion, yeas. 0 nay. Motion carried. 3. Mrs. Koppie made a motior< 2nd by Mrs. Pawl to instruct th secretary to send a certified cop> of the Dec. 13 minutes and ; letter statuig that the teacher ha been terminated as of Dec. 13 aiHd tbe suspensioii has been affirmed. 7 yeas. 0 nay. Motion carried. 4. Mr. Brettschneider moved tt- approve payment of bills a> presented, 2nd by Mrs. Koppie. Members voting: yea were as follows: Mrs. Pawl, Mrs. Koppie. Mrs. Livingston. Mr. Grismer. Mr. Pupich, Mr. Brettschneider, and Mr. Zirk. 7 yeas. 0 nay. Motion carried. 5. A motion to transfer the sum of $1,071.15 to the Imprest Fund was made by Mr. Zirk and 2nd by Mrs. Pawl. 7 yeas. 0 nay. Motion carried. 6. Mrs. Pawl made a moti m to approve the locker policy, 2nd by Mr. Grismer. 6 yeas. 0 nay. Motion carried. (Mrs. Koppie left meeting prior fo vote being taken.) 7. The secretary read a resolution calling for the election of 2 members to be elected to serve on the Board of Education District #158, Huntley, 111. said election to be held on April 8, 1978. A motion to approve the resolution was made by Mrs. Pawl and 2nd by Mrs. Lvingston. Members voting yea; Mrs. Pawl, Mrs. Livingston, Mr. Brettschnei¬ der, and Mr. Zirk. Members absent; Mrs. Koppie, Mr. Pupich and Mr, Grismer. There were no nays. Motion carried. Mrs. Koppie retumed at 9:45 p.m. 8. A motion to approve application for Title IVB made by Mr. Brettschneider and 2nd by Mrs. Livingston. Members voting yea; Mrs. Pawl, Mrs. Koppie, Mrs. Livingston, Mr. Grismer, Mr. Pupich, Mr. Brett¬ schneider, and Mr. Zirk. There were no nays. Motion carried. 9. A motion to approve application for debt service was inade by Mr. Zut and 2nd by Mr. Pupidi. 7 yeas. 0 nay. Motion carried. At 10:15 p.m. an eiecutive session was called to discuss feteoael, came out of execntlve sesslM at 10:30 p.m. 10. Mrs. Koppie moved to adjourn at 10:30 p.m.; 7 yeas. 0 nays. Meeting adjourned.
