CUB SCOUT AWARD NITE
Cub Scouts who won the ARROW OF LIGHT were:

In order to get the Arrow of Light award, the scouts had to complete seven achievemens after they had attained their Weiblos badge plus know first aid, the scout pledge and what it stands for. Mr. Roberts worked with the boys each week to help them complete the achivement.
A special award was presented to Cub Scout Jon Ferguson by Den Mother, Sandy Basel, as Jon's Mother looks on. Jon has been a scout for two years. He won the award for the work that he did in scouting.
Pictured above is Jerry Roberts, Cub Scoutmaster, being awarded a desk set plaque for his work as scoutmaster. He is presently working with the Wieblos. Mr. Lawrence Basel will be taking over as scoutmaster.

Pictured above is Scoutmaster Gary DeDina congradulating Doug' Will on his promotion to Eagle Scout as Doug's mother, Joyce, looks on. Eagle Scout is the highest rank that a scout can attain. It take a great deal of work to complete the requirements. One of the requirements is a service project. Doug made a wishing well with the Village of Huntley ensigna on the top of it and placed it in the downtown park.
Last Tuesday, February 20th, the Boy Scouts held their annual Awards Nite. The Huntley Scouts received earned badges. The scouts had singing and skits to entertain their parents. Refreshments were served.
V. DAHL ATTENDED WHIRLPOOL SEMINAR
Victor Dahl, (right), owner of V & V Electronic & Appliance in Huntley, recently attended a one-week seminar in Dealer Management conducted by Whirlpool Corporation at it* Educational Center in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Twenty-two men and women, including Dahl and represehting 12 states, spent the week leaming more about financial management, advertising and promotion, personnel, service, merchandising and good management techniques.
The Whirpool Education Center was founded over 14 years ago and has trained literally thousands of independent appliance dealers to compete effectively in business. Over the years, the Center has changed from what was a product training school to a facility that now runs sophisticated clinics including: Dealer Management Seminars; Retail sales Clinics; Mass Merchant Seminars) Sons and Daughters of Dealers Seminars; and Builder-Dealer Seminars, to name only a few.
Dahl received a Certificate of Achievement from Whirlpool national manager of retail education Daniel B. Spear upon successful completion of the Seminar.
SCHOOL BOARD LOOKING INTO LEGAL ACTION
At last week's School Board meeting, the Board approved the building repairs by the Kenneth Allen Construction Co. to the gym lobby roof and the gym itself. The steel angles have been ordered but will not be in for several weeks. The building is still considered unsafe. A final report from the insurance company is due soon.
Dr. Bunt reported that the Board had met with a law firm last week and would be meeting with another one this week to review the possibility of legal action. This could be taken because of thc faulty construction of the lobby roof. Bridget did not connect the trusses and the roof was capable of holding only 20 lbs. of pressure while the maximum required weight is 30 lbs. Another reason for legal action could be the design ofthe lobby roof which rested 5 feet below the gym roof and apparently was not slanted enough. This area became a catch basin for much of the snow which fell the night of January 13th. As of now no statement is being made as t« when or if the Board will take legal action against the contractor or architect.

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Scbool District #158, Huntley Couoli- dated Schools, Huntley, nUpolt, was held in the High School building on February 8, 1979 at 7:30 P.M.
The  President   called  the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Mr. Spears, Mr. Grismer, Mr. Pupich, Mr. Brettschneider. Mrs. Livingstn, and Mr. Zirk. Absent: Mrs. Pawl.
At this time all present joined in the Pledge to the Flag.
1. Mr. Brettschneider moved Mr. Grismer 2nd to approve the minutes of the Feb. 1 regular Board meeting as writtet). 6 Yeas, motion carried.
2. Mr. Pupich moved Mr Zirk 2nd to approve payment oi the  monthly  bills.     Yeas: Pupich, Zirk, Grismer, Brett-. Schneider, and Livingston. Pass: Spears.   5 yeas, 1 pass, motion carried.
3. Mr. Brettschneider moved Mr. Spears 2nd to approve reimbursement of the Imprest Bills amount of $656.17. Mr. Pupich ammended the motion tc change the amount to S631.56. 6 yeas, motion carried.
4. Mr. Pupich moved Mr. Grismer 2nd to approve thc resolution to loan S60,0()0 to the Education Fund from th^ Work¬ ing Cash Fund. 6 yeas, motion carried.
5. Mr. Grismer moved Mr Brettschneider 2nd to retain the Attomey of the State Bank of Huntley to pursue collection/)f $500 from Mr. Brunner for gym rent. 6 yeas, motion carried.
6. Mr. Brettschneider moved Mr. Grismer 2nd to approve the resolution to correct IOE recog¬ nition Status. Yeas: Brett¬ schneider, Grismer, Pupich, Zirk and Livingston. Nays: Spears. 5 yeas, 1 nay, motion carried.
7. Mr. Pupich moved Mr. Zirk 2nd to approve the 5 year textbook reviewplan. 6 yeas, motion carried.
8. Mr. Brettschneider moved Mr. Pupich 2nd to have the District pay the $111.30 to repairthe bowling coach's car. 6 yeas, motion carried.
9. Mr. Pupich moved Mr. Brettschneider 2nd to table Vehicle Insurance coverage for the bowling coach's car, also coverage for a parent who drives their car during the bowling season.

The Board went into Ezecu¬ tive Session at 7:57 P.M. to discuss Insurance coverages.
