Election Results
Voters in McHenry County cast their votes Tuesday in favor of President-Elect George Bush and his running mate, Dan Quayle by a 2-1 margih over Michael Dukakis.
Dennis Hastert and Philip Crane, Republician Congressmen from this area both won their re-elections by a large margin.
Voters in McHenry County
soundly defeated the vote to hold a proposed constitutional convention and also defeated the referendum to establish the McHenry County Historical District. The McHenry County College referendum however, was passed, which will allow the college to float bonds to expand the college without raising taxes.
Christmas in the Grove
The 9th annual "Christmas In The Grove" Arts, Crafts and Bake Sale will be Saturday, November 12, from 9:00 AM to 4 PM on the campus of Waubonsee Community College- located two miles north of Sugar Grove on Route 47. Dickson Center (formerly the College Center) by the south parking lot and Erickson Hall (Gymnasium) by the north parking lot will hold 140 crafters representing 77 Illinois towns, Alabama, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Tennessee and Wisconsin. A Larger Voice For Veterans
On November 11, the nation will pause to honor the millions of American men and women who have answered the call to military service. In ceremonies throughout our nation we will pause not only to honor our veterans, but to rededicate ourselves to the cause of peace.
In the fmal days of the 100th Congress, legislation was approved that will give our veterans a more important voice in our government - by elevating the Veterans Administration to cabinet level status in future administrations.
The legislation will not increase the cost to the federal government, but will bring more dignity and pride to veterans and will give that agency more contact with

Just outside of town last Thursday night, Huntley's volleyball team was greeted with an escort of police and fire trucks to welcome the team home.
Admist flashing lights, blaring sirens and tears of joy and sorrow the season ended for this year's conference champs of 32 wins and only 1 loss.
At the Class A Kaneland sectional fmal game, on Nov.
3rd, Huntley w:is defeated by Wheaton St. Francis, who placed third in Class AA last year. The Redskins lost one game, 8 to 15 and returned to win the second game 15 to 11, as the fans grew louder and louder, the undefeated Red¬ skins lost 15 to 2, advancing St. Francis to the Super- sectionals at Lisle.

Lions Club Pancake Breakfast

On Sunday, November 6, the Lions Club held a Pancake Breakfast at the Legion, from 8 a.m. to 1 p m. The breakfast consisted of pancakes, eggs and sausage. The meal was very delicious and enjoyed by all.
