MCC SPRING GREEN
This Sunday, April 20th the MCC Floral Club will be holding their annual "Spring Green" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The open house is sponsored every year under the guidance of the Agricultural Department and its director, Don Barrett. There will be displays of floral designs, com treated for weed control, soil testing, fruit trees, and sheep shearing to name a few. Residents will be able to have their soil tested by digging 6" under the ground surface for soil, spread it on newspaper and keep indoors for 3 or 4 days before the test. The testing will help you to prepare your garden of lawn for spring planting. Proper pruning techniques will also be demonstrated for fruit trees. Students also compared yields of corn treated by weed control and no weed control. All the com was raised in the 100 percent no till plots on the campus.
Spring Green will be held this Sunday, April 20. Resident will get tips about flowers, landscap¬ ing, gardens, livestock and crops.
