News
Thank you to everyone who made our raffle a success and to those who made direct deposits to the L.E.A.C. bank account.
Winners in the raffle were L. Thurow, S. Brettman, B. Beth and W. Galanis.
The raffle ticket purchases plus direct deposits totaled $1251.00.
At this time we still have a debt.
If you have not donated to the L.E.A.C. account we urge you to do so. Remember we have kept the landfill away from our doorstep as well as a deterioration of our commu¬ nity values. If you are a home or farm owner, have a business in Huntley, are raising a family and enjoy the friendly charm of this community, please consider a donation.

American  Legion Auxiliary
The American Legion Auxil¬ iary Unit #673 will be installing new Officers July 18th, 7:30 p.m. at the Legion Home.
Legion Officers: Commander-Stanley Czonstka, Sr. Vice Commander-James Manning, Jr. Vice Commander-James Weirich, Finance Officer-Dick Enstrom, Sgt. at Arms-Don Hardy, Adjutant-Don Enstrom, Chaplain-Bob Zirk.
Auxiliary: President-Jo Czonstka, 1st Vice-Arlene Mattingly, 2nd Vice-Carol Weirich, Treasurer-Betty Zirk, Secretary-Marilyn Eckman, Sgt. at Arms-Dolores Graham, Chaplain-Joan Melahn.
Following installation lunch will be served.
McHenry County installation will be Sunday, July 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Lake in the Hills. Arlene Mattingly will be installed as AuxiHary President on that day with George Leweren?, Commander. Jo Czonstka

State  Bank Gives  Away  Money

At the recent town picnic the State Bank of Huntley held a guessing game. In this game one was required to estimate the amount of money in the jar, which was filled with change. The winner was Mr. Emerson Fell of Huntley with a guess of 38.57.
Mr. Fell accredited his success to a system he devised by using a small clay jar to collect coins at home.
When this jar is filled it holds approximatly five dollars. Then using this hypothesis, compared the jar from home to the bank's jar and guessed the jar to hold $38.57. When the bank's jar was counted it came to $38.75. A difference of only eighteen cents. Congratulations are in order to Mr. Fell.

The Huntley American Legion Auxiliary is proud to announce that we have been notified from the American Legion and American Legion auxiliary Poppy Commission that Huntley's Mark Bauer's Poppy Poster was judged 1st place in Class 4 (lOth-llth- ic 12th) in the State of Illinois. There are 6 Classes in which posters are judged - Class 1 - (4th ic 5th) Class 2 (6th ic 7th) Class 3 - (Sth ic 9th) Class 4 - (10th, 11th ic 12th) and Class 5 - (Developmentally Disabled Students). The highest award State Wide in the. Poppy Poster contest is in Ist Place Class 4 and for which Mark Bauer will receive a $500.00 scholarship to be used in an accredited institution of higher learning and for which Mark will be attending Illinois State this fall.
All 1st Place Poster Winners in State will go on to National for further judging. I

The June meeting was an awards dinner held at Bill's Village Inn. With members and guests, 33 people were in attendance.
President Jensen thanked all her committees for all their help during the past year.
Our Bingo Soundman Barney was awarded a Soundman tee shirt for all his work and help.
Perfect attendance pins
were passed out. Lioness Jensen, Borhart and Staadt then honored all committees with each person receiving something so they can remem¬ ber the past year. The last committee being Sunshine with Lioness Marie Fettes being honored as Lioness of the year.
There will be no meeting in July.
August meeting will be held August 19, 1987.
