Pictured above is Miss Hannah Martin who died last Friday, February 6th after suffering a broken hip in a nursing horae the week befbre. Miss Martin taught 3 generations of Huntley diUdren. She was described in the 1951 Huntley Centennial book as followsz;
"Miss Hannah Martin, Commercial teacher in the Huntley High Schooi, haa taught the youth of our community for forty years. Miss Martin, always generous with her advice and encouragement, has helped many a young person on his way to a promising career. >As one wbo has, without doubt, helped to improve the lives of young Hnntley-ites and future Americans, we honor her as one of "our great citizens."

In January 1980 interview with Miss Martin when she received the Presidential Bhthday Card Miss Martin sUted that she eqjoyed teaching the high schoolers. She said that her students used to compete in nearby towns and many times went downstate to Campaign for statewide competition. She added that she liked diildren but today she didn't always recognize them because of the beards and moustaches. She recalled that she lived near the cemetary and that she kept fit by walking to and from school. She said th|it that is why she was in such s^od physical condition at the time of the interview. She commented that many of her old friends sucfa as Marion Coaley were gone but that she was constantly making new ones. Sfae was an avid reader especially of newspapers and liked to do needlepoint. Sbe said that teaching ia the Huntley school system was like being a member of a Mg Camlly.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE VOLLAOE BOARD OFTRUSTEES
The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Huntley was held on Tfaursday, February 5, 19B1 in the Boafd Room of the Village Hall and brought to order by the President at 8:00 p.m.
Roll noted the following present: President Enstrom, Trustees Stroupe, Wicke, Rud¬ sinski, Dhamer, Mercer and Lamb. Also attending were Village Engineer Schwegel, Treasurer Margaret Swanson, William North. Auditor for the village and members of the Public Works Department.
The minutes of the January Sth, 1981 meeting were the first order of business. After review, there being no additions nor corrections, they stood approv¬ ed as presented.
The financial reports were then reviewed. Trustee Stroupe made a motion to commend the treaaurer for the exceUent work she ia doing and has done, and that the treasurer's report for January, 1981 be approved. Said motion seconded by Tmatee Lamb. Upon roll call, all trustees voted aye snd the motioncarried.
At this poiat. the President asked the Elgin Daily Conrieij News reporter to report more accurately in the fiitore.
