Village Board Minutes
The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Huntley was held February 8, 1990 in the Board Room of the Village Hall and called to order at 8:00 pm by the President.
Present were President Ohamer, Trustees Wicke, Greve, Borowicz, Russ and Gow with Trustee Hoeft being absent. Also attending were Attorney Kukla, Village Engineer Schwegel, Police Chief Rossi, Public Works Director Nimbar and Village Building Inspector Schaller.
The minutes of the January 11, 1990 Regular Meeting were the first order of business to come before the Board. After an explanation by the President regarding the publishing of these minutes in that a correction is to occur in next issue, a motion was made by Trustee Greve, seconded by Trustee Russ to approve the minutes as repesented. Roll noted all ayes with the exception of Trustees Borowics and Gow who passed, motion carried and minutes were approved.
After examination of the fmancial reports, a motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Gow, to approve the Treasurer's Report. Roll noted all ayes and motion carried.
The expenses were next to come before the Trustees. Trustee Russ made a motion to approve payment of all bills excluding the Cowlin, Ungvarsky, Kukla and Curran invoice in the amount of $1183.85, seconded by Trustee Borowicr. aid upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried. There¬ after, Trustee Russ made a motion to authorize payment by Century Title to Seagren and Shales in the amount of $138,232.00, said payment is part of the sewer treatment plant construction. Motion seconded by Trustee Greve, and upon roll call all trustees voted aye and the motion carried.
President Dhamer then explained to the Board the one and one-half mile radius map samples that will be submitted to the Finance Committee by a John Cost, which will be for preliminary drafts and will be for a nominal cost.
He also discussed the bus service which could be possible if enough patrons were to show an interest. He is waiting for responses. There were no supporters of this at the meeting.
He then asked for Public Comments and other than a question by the press on previous business, there were none.
Trustee Greve, on other business, submitted to the Board "Responsibilities and Duties of City Administrator" for their response. He asked for Attorney Kukla's opinion who was in agreement except for some verbages, i.e. mayor, city, etc., same being drawn by a Dr. BanovicE. Discussion followed with the President asking to put back to committee and thereafter. Trustee Greve made a motion to adopt the "Responsibil¬ ities and Duties of City Administrator" and that verbage be changed to reflect President, Village, Village Board. Attorney Kukla added that #7 should reflect "Zoning Administrator" which Trustee Greve asked be incorporated in his motion, which was seconded by Trustee Wicke. Roll noted all ayes and motion carried. Trustee Greve also circulated a copy of an ad for a Village Administrator to each Board member for their comments. He then wu instructed to proceed with publishing of same.
President Dhamer requested that the Clerk reply to the Girl Scouts of America acknowledging their cookie sale dates.
The President and Attorney Kukla then discussed the letters received from Bazos and Kraemer, Attorneys at Law. Attorney explained that they were questioning the Pentaplex property for a prospective purchaser. He will prepare a response to their letter regarding sewer use permit and review and will copy the Board.
Also, President Dhstmer received a number of form letters from concerned citizens critical of conditions of Kreutzer Road. Attorney Kukla advised that this road had been excluded from the village jurisdiction Continued on page 16

PTO News
We are excited about the future here in Huntley Schools! The PTO just completed sponsoring our first "Testathon '90" with a wonderful response by the young people and their pledges. The committee worked hard to get this worthwhile all school effort at fund raising off the ground this year of the new decade in    ' Huntley schools. The theme of "Back to the Future" was appropriate for it made us realize that we ca^ri effect the future of Huntley Schools and make it a better place for our children's education. We as officers have dedicated a lot of time to getting this program started and are very pleased with the results. We see that the people in Huntley did care about the future with the wonderful response the students had in pledges. Huntley PTO is proud to annouce that we exceeded our goal of $3,000 and brought in the Grand Total of $4,131.10. Let's go Huntley!
We would like to thank all the people it our chairperson, Laurie Norris, who helped us to make this event a success. They are: Brookdale Graphics in Huntley for their time and effort it printing envelopes; the Dairy Mart for the 10% discount on cone treats to all the students that participated; to the Room Moms who helped with the tallying; and to all the people who supported this Testathon to make it a reality after two yeitrs of planning. Our goal was two¬ fold. First, to inspire self-worth and excitement for a school-wide project. Second, to raise funds for the school's Media-Learning Center and much needed

equipment. AU this was done by simply having students get pledges for a spelling test they would normally take during the designated week. Students collected their pledges and were awarded prizes as an incentive to do a little more for their school. We then had an assembly to build the school
spirit for reaching the goal that would be then used by all the students in the school in the Media Center. Thank You Huntley, for your generous support. Next PTO Meeting is March 20, at 7:00 pm, in the School Cafeteria.
