BECKIE HARM TU COMPETE FOR MISS ILLINOIS TITLE
UONS CLUB INSTALLATION
On June 16th. Beckie Jayne Harm, daughter of the Reverend and )Mrs. 'rederick Harm of Huntley, was crowned Miss Carpentersville. She will compete against 29 other local pageant winners for the Miss Illinois Crown on Junly 20, 21 and 22. Her talent for that evening will be a semi classical selection. Newly crowned Miss Carpentersville of 1978. Beckie Harm, of jHuntley, assists Carpentersville Postmaster Ernest Dziewior. draw 'the names of the three top winners of the "Father-Of-The-Year" contest held in the Meadowdale Shopping Center on Saturday June 17. The contest was sponsored by the Meadowdale Businessmen's Association. The grand prize winner was Vernon Carr of Carpentersville. The first runner-up was John Wamock of East Dundee and second runner-up was Gary Anderson of Carpentersville. Winner of the free ride on the Sky-Drifters of Cary hot air balloon was Larry Wehling of Carpentersville. Balloon ride was donated by the WIVS radio station in Crystal Lake.
Winners in the "Father-Of-The-Year" contest in the Meadowdale Shopping Center were presented with their gifts by the newly crowned Miss Carpentersville. Beckie Harm of Huntley. The Huntley Lions Club held Installation of Officers June 24 at the Embers Resturant in Elgin. Past District Govemor Erv Deuchler of Dundee installed the following directors: Ed Hayes. Del Borhart and Ed Meagher. Art Wicke was absent. Lion Tamer - Don Kohley (absent) Tailtwister • Ed Hartmann; 3rd Vice President - Dick Kohley; 2nd Vice President - Mel Johnson; Isr Vice President - Jim Weirich; Secretary-Treasurer - Chuck Lamb; and President - Dennis Rudsinski. Lion Erv Deuchler gave an impressive talk on the past history of the Huntley Lions Club and asked for the past presidents in the group to be recognized.
Outgoing President Charies Ruth pinned the President's pin upon Lion Dennis Rudsinski and President Rudsinski gave the Past President pin and award to Chuck for the past year.

MESSAGE FROM SUPERVISOR OF ASSESSMENTS
Publication of Township Assessments for 1978 appearing in this newspaper at this early date is to conform to the mandated July 10, 1978. dead¬ line for publication of assess¬ ments for the 1978 assessment year. This early date of publication of assessments in McHenry County has been accomplished by the fine coop¬ eration of all township assessors the more sophisticated data processing equipment at Brown's Data Processing Center the cooperation of the SidweU Mapping Co. in their early completion of revisions necessa¬ ry in creating our 1978 assessors books, and the completion of all necessary work in the Supervi¬ sor of Assessments office. This early publication was to adhere to an Illinois Supreme Court decision handed down on Jan. 27, 1978. commonly referred to as Andrews vs Foxworthy.
In addition to the early publication of assessments, we will also be sending out Notice «f Assessment elii%M «tfhiM>Mi^ taxpayers whose real property assessment has been changed since the last preceding assess¬ ment. These "Notice of Assessment Change" cards have been n. vised to comply with a revision in the Illinois Statutes of Chap. 120. Para. 584 ofthe Revenue Act.
This revision requires this notice to contain: the previous year's and current appraised full market valuation, the per¬ centage of full market value represented by assessed value, and the percentage for the previous year, if not the same as the current percentage, and the previous year's and current a^scssed value. Ant^ also, a brief reason for the i ;ase in the property revision, such notice shall include the reason for any change in the property's valuation.
The following is a brief explanation of the entries ap¬ pearing on these cards below the permanent parcel number for all urban property. The entries listed under assessed value for 1977 & 1978 are the assessed values prior to the County equalization factor by the Dept. of Local Govemment Affairs or any equalization of 1978 assessments by the Board of Review. The entries under assessed level reflect the Coun¬ ties level of assessment for 1977, which was 24.49% and the percentage for 1978. which reflects the level of assessment used by the township assessor for his changed assessments for 1978.
The entries under Fair Market Value reflect the Fair Market Value of your property based on the above assessed values and levels of assessment.
The reason for change on all cards were simplified and stated under: 1. Adjustment to market value reflects a change in assessment made by the assessor to show a change in the property's valuation. 2. New Continued on Page 2
