LEGION BIRTHDAY PARTY MARCH 10th
On Saturday, March lOth the American Legion Post will hold Its 60th Birthday Party. At the
time, continuance membership ins will be awarded. Dinner will begin at 7:30 P.M. If you plan to attend make your reservations by March 3rd to Don Enstrom or at the Legion Home.

The Cub Scouts will be having their annual Blue and Gold banquet on February 19th at the' Trinity Lutheran Church at 6:30 P.M. The Cubs will be receiving various awards that they have worked hard to achieve.
ONE BUILDING AT FOX VALLEY GREASE GUTTED
At approximately 8 p.m., the Huntley Fire Department anwered jail at  Fox Valley  Grease  Co.  Two pumpers  and  two  tanker responded to the call. The firemen were somewhat delaved b> freight train going through Huntley.
The fire began in the ceiling of the main building which house the cooker4nd spread to a smaller building next to it which hous« grease. The smaller building was completely gutted.
The firemen had to use their air packs because of heavy smnk The Marengo Fire Department tanker was called in by Hunil. Firemen.
The fire was completely out at 10:45 p.m. There were no Injun.' as only a guard was on duty.  The cause of the fire  is  si. undetermined.
NULLE DECLINES THE POSITION OF SHERIFF
Since Sheriff Art Tyrrell's resignation, there has been some controversy surrounding his successor. Henry Nulle next in line for the position, is a Republican and the law clearly states that the new sheriff must be a member of the Democratii party. Sheriff Tyrrell in his statement endorsed Mr. Nulle but he would have to chang( parties to do so.
Below is a statement frotr Mr. Nulle conceraing his de cision.
On February 9, 1978 I mailed a letter to Richard Klemm Chairman of the County Boar( asking that my application for position of Sheriff of McHenry County be withdrawn. I am informed that Mr. Klemm received the letter February 13. This was done after careful consideration regarding the law which says that the replacement must be from some political party. It would have been very easy to say that I was of the same party but I will not misrepresent myself to the County Board nor to the people of McHenry County. This In no way means a letdown on the job for I will continue to administer the Sheriffs policies to,the best of my ability and I wilfgive the CoatiaiMdoiiP«fa2
CIRCUS THEME FO HOBOSHOW
The 'Hoboes' have done n again. This time they've sneak ed under the circus tent and go caught up "in the act."
Yes, the Chancel Choir of the First Congregational Church ?ire busier than ever getting their act together for Saturday. March 3rd when their annual Hobo Dinner and Show will be held in the church's social hall at the usual times of 5:30 anrf 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the show are $4.50 for adults and $2.00 for children; and they will go on sale this Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the social hall. .
In the center ring, the dhoir,' under the direction of Mr. Wm Leggee and accompanied by Mrs. Dean Marlowe, will be singing such songs as "Talk-to the Animals", "The Greatest Show on Earth", "I Love a Parade", "Be a Gown" and many more. The "Bottles" will be there again in ring number two and In ring number three there will be soloists, barber¬ shop singing and maybe even a tightrope act. Funny costumes, goody bags and much, much more will add up to an evening of good food, fun tnd excite¬ ment for all ages.
