VETERANS DAY CEREMONIES
Mike Davis, assistant Vice President ofthe State Bank of Huntley las donated two attractive leather encased books on behalf of the Sank, to the Huntley High School Library. The books were selected )n content that would appeal to our teenagers.
The first book was entitled, "The Automobile" and the second "The Sports Hall of Fame".
Dr. Bunt and Head Librarian, Jim Keams, have expressed sincere thanks to Mike and the Bank and have stated the books will get a great deal of use by the students.
SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
The American Legion and Auxiliary members held a dedication ceremony ofthe flag pole at the Huntley Cemetaries last Saturday. November 11 to pay homage to our dead soldiers on Veterans Day. Few Huntley residents joined in the ceremony.
RTA NEWS FOR HUNTLEY
Representatives of the Re¬ gional Transportation Authority were in Huntley on Wednesday to meet with key figures and discuss concems for transporta¬ tion in the Huntley community. Dale Fitschen, Operational Planner, Patricia Judice, Urban Planner and Van Sells, Mc Henry County RTA Hason, met
with Mayor Don Enstrom, C. W. Coons Chairman of the Mc¬ Henry County Citizens Trans¬ portation Committee, Lucille Thurow and Louise Kreutzer also of that committee. Suggestions offered in discus¬ sion were; Dial-a-ride, Mini¬ bus; subsidized cabs and a central parking area adjacent to the N. W. The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Consoli¬ dated Schools, Huntley, Illinois was held in the High School building on November 9, 1978 at 7.30 P.M.
The President called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Mr. Pupich, Mr. Brettschneid¬ er, Mr. Zirk and Mrs. Livingst¬ on.
Absent were Mrs. Pawl. Mr. Grismer and Mr. Spears.
At this time all present joined in the Pledge to the Flag.
Mr. Brettschneider moved to approve the minutes of the Oct. 26 meeting with correction^. Mr. Pupich 2nd and the motion carried 4 yeas and no nays.
Mr. Pupich moved Mr. Brett¬ schneider 2nd to amend the agenda taking Item 7 I- after
approval of minutes. The motion carried 4 yeas and no nays.
Mr. Spears joined the meet¬ ing at 7.35 P.M.
Mrs. Pat Griffine was we! comed to the meeting, and gavi a report on the Art Program She provided the Board witl information regarding the Dis trict 158 Program. Discussion ol the report was followed by a tour of the Art Department. The President, Mrs. Livingston thanked Mrs. Griffin for an excellent report.
Mr. Brettschneider moved Mr. Pupich 2nd to approve payment of the monthly bills. The motion carried with 5 yeas and no nays.
Mr. Pupich moved Mr. Brett Schneider 2nd transfer $1213.84 to the imprest Fund. The motion carried 5 yeas and no nays.

CE SKATING AT 3EICKE PARK THIS .^EAR
Ice skating on the pond, in the park, will be allowed this winter. All parents must advise your children not to use the pond until it is tested for safety. The park district will post this at the pond when skating will be allowed. It will be at least Jan. 1st before any pond of this nature will be hard enough and thick enough to skate on. The park district will also keep the ice free of snow when it is necessary. Advise studehts of safety conceming the pond.
Skiing trips will be planned for the winter months. Parents and students will be notified thru the school of trips - usually on Mondays, when and the cost of the trips.
This year a sport called tubing, held aroung Barrington, will have a bus trip to see if students are interested in this.
For our students also we are looking for a hill in the park for sledding. With all the trees in the park we must take precau¬ tion and safety measures-and make sure our students do not sled in areas that are dangeix>us A sledding hill wrili be marked out for sutdents to use.
