REGULAR MEEUNG OF THE
VILLAGE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES
The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on May 1, 1986 in the Board Room of the Village Hall and brought to order by President Dhamer at 8:00 pm.
Attending the meeting were: President Dhamer, Trustees Berlin, Brown, Ahrens, Russ, Wicke and Zimmerman. Also present were Village Engineer Schwegel, Police Chief Rossi and members of the Public Works Department.
The April Regular Meeting and Annual Meeting minutes were first on the agenda and there being no additions nor corrections they stood approved as presented.
The financial reports were brought before the Board noting they were yet to be finalized due to year end figures not available at this time. A motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Berlin to accept the financial reports pending final figures. Upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried.
Bills for the current month were reviewed and a motion by Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Ahrens, was made to approve payment of same. Upon roll call, all trustees voted aye, motion was carried and Gerk was instructed to make payment of said bills.
President Dhamer then read a resignation from Attomey Richard Szura effective April 30, 1986. A motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Berlin, to accept this resignation and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and motion carried. In the same order of business. President Dhamer   introduced   Attomey
Michael Kukla of Cowlin, Ungvarsky, Kukla and Curran and then made his appointment of Attomey Kukla to represent the Village, for the fiscal year 1986-1987 at the rate of S75.00/hour. After discussion, a motion was made by Tmstee Berlin, seconded by Trustee Russ, to accept the President's appointment of Village Attomey and upon roll call, all trastees voted aye, the motion carried and the Board welcomed Attomey Kukla.
Next, Village Gerk Prudence B. Cole submitted her resigna¬ tion to the Board as of May 1, 1986 to which the Board accepted on a motion by Tmstee Wicke, seconded by Tmstee Russ. Roll noted all ayes and the motion carried. President Dha¬ mer at this point appointed Mary Lou Hardy as Village Gerk for the fiscal year 1986-1987 until the next regular election. Motion was made to accept this appointment by Tmstee Berlin, seconded by Tmstee Ahrens, and upon roll call, all tmstees voted aye and the motion carried.
It was noted that a Mr. Miller who was on the agenda relative to revenue bonds was not present.
The Board then moved on to the second item on the agenda being discussion on the telephone service proposal. Mr. Lodge, representative, demon¬ strated the types of packages available. In addition to the current proposal, he advised there were other options as demonstrated but could only give "ballpark" pricing at this point. Tmstee Berlin stated these and the proposal in her hands would be taken to committee.
A Mr. Abramson, Layne Westem Company, spoke to the
tmstees regarding the rehabili¬ tation of WeU #5. He stated his company ha«i.treftted it the last time and referred to his proposal to Mr. Shear dated March 24, 1986 describing a new method of cleaning the well screen by using a Sonar Jet. He explained its use extensively, and also gave a guesstimae for a new well at $35,000. After further discussion. President Dhamer turned this over to committee for further study and recommendation. (It was noted that this $35,000 figure would only be the drillhig and not the new tank and equipment, and that the Sonar-Jet treatment proposed was S5,000.00)
f^sident Dhamer then called on a Mr. Cajand Gatreaus of U.S.A. Tank and Tower Company, Houston, Texas. He presented an Emergency Repair Contract for the water tower tank, said contract amounting to $28,885.00. The tmstees deter¬ mined that more proposals should be sought and then put out on bid. Mr. Gatreaux asked to be notified when this was done. This matter was then put into the hands of committeee.
President Dhamer read the Planning Commissions recom¬ mendation regarding the Green Belt Ordinance for Huntley in which they recommended that all landscape plans were to be

Public Invited To Dedication
On May 15,1986 the public is invited to witness the dedication of the Huntley High School Ag room to Mr. Henry Marlowe. This will begin at 7:30 at the beginning of the monthly board meeting.
Refreshments will be served following the dedication in the Ag room.
Bike/Walk
A-Tlion For Cystic Fibrosis
The time is fast approaching for the Bike/Walk-A-Thon for Cystic Fribrosis on Saturday, May 17th, at your convenience between 9 am and 5 pm. Come when you can and stay as long as you can. It is important that you pick up your sponsor forms and begin to secure pledges for the number of laps or miles (or a flat pledge) you will bike or walk on the 17th. The divisions of participation are trikes (big- whfcels); bicycles; or legging it.

There will be a course for each. SPONSOR FORMS are available at the post office infoi-mationa! counter, either office at the grade or high schools, or call Charles Kittel, area chauman for C.F., at 669-5735. ITie more pledges and amounts commit¬ ted, the more valuable your laps and miles. The success of CF. research is directly related to the funds received. So, do your part and be a part of the fight against CF. as a participant or sponsor.
Running for Prom King and Queen for 1986 are boys: Michael Grismer, Jeff Halat, Randy Doyle, Todd Ream, Larry Basel and Wesley Eeg. Girls: Missy Reeves, Mandi Barton, Beth Martin, Jennie Martin, Marcy Brandwein and Janis Jones.
Students vote for King and Queen and they will be announced Friday, May 9th.
Due to the last minute anangements for Prom Govt pktares, not all are pictured.
