FFA BANQUET
Last Tuesday, May 12, the Huntley FFA held their annual Banquet at the Grade School Gym with a meal of ham and homemade goodies being served.
Following the dinner, awards were given out by FFA members, advisors and Mr. Nelson. They are:

MEMORIAL DAY 1981
The Huntley American Legion Post #673 will conduct Memorial Day services in honor of the nations war dead at 11 a. m. on Monday, May 25th at the Huntley Cemetary, Commander Dennis Rudsinski of Huntley Post #673 aimounced today.
Chairman of this year's Memorial Day observance is Robert Schultz, who outlined some of the details of the Post's Memorial Day ceremonies. Schultz explained that this year's observance will include the following:

POPPYDAY MAY22nd
Poppy Day will be held this Friday. May 22 in Huntiey according to Poppy Day Chair¬ men, Mrs. Arncrfd Chesak and Mrs. Camrfl Robertshaw. Pro¬ ceeds are used for veterans.
OPENHOUSE MAY23rd
An Open House will be held this Saturday, May 23rd for Roy Bankes at the Sute Bank of Huntley from 9 a.m. till 12 noon. Roy is being honored for bis 20 years of service at the bank.
DEAN MARLOWE RESIGNS FROM OOUNTT BOARD
Dean Marlowe, County Board Member from Huntiey, resign¬ ed last Tuesday, May 19tii (effective that day) at tbe regular meeting after 5 yrs. iw office. Dean is leaving the boarv to own and operate Aoe Hardware in Elgin along with his wife. Marge. He will begin bis new position on June 2.

Mrs. Robert Schultz, Presideat of Huattey Unit. American Legion Auxiliary, has been informed that Suzanne Emeati has won first place in the Second Division annual Americanism Essay Contest sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. The titie ofthe Essay Contest for this year was "What May Country's Flag Means to Me.'-
his Contest is divided into three classes: Class I, 7th and 8th grades, Qass II, 9th and 10th grades, Qass III, llth and 12th grades. Miss Eraesti, who won first place in Oaas II in Huntiey, also won first place in the llth District. Students entering this contest from the llth District were from puPage, Kane. McHenry and Will Counties, the four Counties whkh oomprise's the llth District.
The Second Division covers the Northera part of Dlinois. North of the Illinois River, West to lowa and East to Indiana excluding Cook County. Miss Emesti's winning essay haa been sent on to the State competition, which meaas she is one of five winners in the State of Illinois in grades 9 and 10.
We wish to give Suzanne our congratulations and wish for her the best in this the fmal step of this competition.
