LIONS CLUB BARBEQUE AN HUNTLEY FIRE DEPT.'S NEW OVERWHELMING SUCCESS RESCUE UNIT

Pictured above is the new Huntley Fire Protection District's -Emergency Rescue Vehicle. The new unit will replace the used vehicle which was used as a back up unit bv the Huntley Rescue Squad. The new vehicle has been used several times since its recent purchase. The above picture was taken when it was blocking 1st Street during the recent wind storm. $35,000 was appropriated last month to purchase the new ambulance.
TORNADO DAMAGE FROM LAST FRIDAY'S STORM
The Huntley Lions Gub enjoyed their most successful Chicken Barbeque last Sunday, June 18, serving over 1800 people. This is the first time in recent years that the Lions have used the Main Street park and American Legion for their barbeque. Up until this year the club has used the Huntley Fire Station for this annual event. This was stopped last year when the kitchen was removed from the Fire Station and replaced with a meeting and classroom for Huntley Firemen. The success of the day was due primarily to the

SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158. Huntley Consoli dated Schools, Huntley, II. was held in the High School building; on June 8. 1978 at 7:30 P.M.
The President called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Upon roll call the following members answered present. Mrs. Livingston. Mrs. Pawl, Mr. Spears. Mr. Brettschneider and Mr. Zirk, with Mr. Pupich and Mr. Grismer absent.
Mrs. Pawl moved and Mr. Brettschneider 2nd to approve the minutes of the May 25. meeting adding "at the State Bank of Huntley" to item #2. All present voted yea. motion carried.
Mr. Grismer joined the meetingat 7:35 P.M.
Mrs. Pawl moved and Mr. Brettschneider 2nd to approv- payment of monthly bills a- presented. Voting yea. MrN Livingston, Mrs. Pawl, Mt Grismer, Mr. Brettschneider and Mr. Zirk. Mr. Spears Passed, motion carried.
Mr. Zirk moved and Mrs. Livingston 2nd to transfer $913.79 to the Imprest Fund. All members present voted yea motion carried
Mr. Brettschneider moved anc Mrs. Pawl 2nd to approve application for Title I program Members voting yea, Mrs. Livingston. Mrs. Pawl, Mr. Spears. Mr. Grismer, Mr. Brettschneider. Mr. Zirk voted nay. motion carried.
Mrs. Livingston moved anr Mr. Brettschneider 2nd tc approve use of Modem Chemistry Text book series by Metcatte, Williams and Castle for the High School Chemistry. All members present voted yea. motion carried.
Mr. Zirk moved and Mrs. Livingston 2nd to approve purchase of Text Books for Business & Home Economics courses in the High School plus the High School consumalbes. All members present voted vea, motion carried.
A motion by Mr. Spears and 2nd by Mrs. Livingston to table purchase of Grade School Text Books until a better break down of expenditures is presented. Two yeas, four nays, motion failed.
Mr. Brettschneider moved and Mr. Grismer 2nd to approve the amount of $7800 for purchase of Grade School Text Books for Reading & Science program. Two yeas, four nays, motion failed.
Mr. Lincoln will present a complete breakdown of Text Books for use in the Grade School at the next Board meeting.
Mrs. Pawl moved and Mr. Zirk 2nd to accept the resignation of Charles Rubenacker as Agricul¬ ture Teacher in the District. All members present voted yea, motion carried.
Mrs. Livingston moved and Mrs. Pawl 2nd to appoint Mrs. Lucille Koch as Treasurer for District #158 for the coming fiscal year. All members pMsent voted yea, motion
