Last Sunday. November 27. the Huntley American Legion held its annual Christmas deoontiag. Members of the Legion spend the day putting up the Christmas tree, steamers and other Chxistniaay decorations in preparation for a number of parties that are held at the Le^on.
Those who participated were all World War 11 Veterans and their wives. Unlike as in years p«< there were very few children and families in attendance.

Santa Claus is coming .to twon soon.
Santa's Fund Christmas Party for all our Huntley kids, preschool thru Sth grade is as follows: Place: Village Square Date: Sat., December 17 Time: 2:00 p.m.
Santa Claus will come to the Village Square by his sled if we
have enough snow otherwise by his motorized vehicle.
He will greet all the young ones and crown the Snow Princess & Prince.
Following the crowning, we will go to the Congregational Church Social Hall for entertainment and refreshments.
Santa Claus will then have a gift for each one and talk to you.
SENIOR CITIZEN CHRISTMAS PARTY
Santa's Fund will be holding your Christmas Party on Friday, Dec. 16th. Dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. Entertainment will follow. Then at 3:15 p.m. Hunt¬ ley's Swing Choir will be on hand to present their performace. This will highlight the party and we're sure you will agree when they're finished.
This is for all Huntley Seniors whether they belong to the club or not. We'd like to have a big turn our. Santa will also be on hand in

The Huntley Athletic Boosters have a bus trip planned to go to
the afternoon. Also any of you who would like to bring center¬ piece decorations, it would be much appreciated.
Anyone needing a ride to and from the party call Louise Kreut¬ zer at 669-5657 or Dorothy Schall- er at 669-5010 after 5:00 p.m. Please feel free to call. Also anyone who was not atthe last Sr$ metting and who also doesn't belong and would like to come, please call, so we can have an approximate idea of how many to plan for.

Santa's Fund is holding a roller skating party this year for all Jr. High and High School students. The following is the schedule: Date - Thursday, Dec. 22nd Time- 7:00p.m.-9:30p.m. Place - McHenry Roller Rink in McHenry. HI
We will have one bus to take those who do not have transporta¬ tion. The bus will be at the Villag Square by the Village Hall and leave at 6:15 p.m. sharp! First comel First serve 1 The rest will have to find their own transport¬ ation.
The rink is reserved for Hunt¬ ley only and skating and shoes will be free. Parents will be admitted free but will have to gay for their skates.
Let's all participate and fill the rink up with our Huntleyites. Posters will be posted at school for signing up, so we have an idea of how many will be coming.
Parents are all welcome too. We need you as cbaperones. The bus will return at approximately 10:15 p.m.'
BECKIEHARMTO SOLO IN • MESSIAH''
The Northern Illinois Choral Association and the McHenry County College Chorus are busily engaged in final rehearsals of the "Messiah" and a Christmas Can¬ tata to be given on Sunday, December 4, a^ 7:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Church, Route 176 in Crystal Lake.
The soloists in the Messiah include soprano Beckie Harm.
Tickets are available from any member of th* chorus or may be purchased at the door.
This year the Huntley Farmside Newspaper and Huntley Merchant will again be giving away a Trip for Two. The year some lucky couple will be going to Pheasant Rtto. There they wiO have dinner Friday night at either the Smugglers Cove or the Bakers Wife on Friday night. Then on Saturday night, they will be dinner guests at the Theatre. Breakfast will also be included in the prise od Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Pheasant Run has an indoor swimming pool, a game room and many little shops throughout their complex.
The second prize in the contest is a stereo from V A. V Electroincs and each of the participating merchants will be giving a S5 gift certificate away to the itd piace winner.
The drawing will be held on Friday, December 23rd.
