SAFETY RULES FOR HALLOWEEN
To coordinate Halloween activities of the community and because of concern over the safety of children during Hallo¬ ween, Chief Ptak is offering the following suggestions.
(1) NEVER let small children go trick-or-treating alone. They should be accompanied by older children or adults.
(2) Suggest that trick-or-treat rounds be confined to their own neighborhoods and to people they KNOW.
(3) Request householders to give children factory wrapped or sealed treats only. Some may wish to give m oney in place of treats. No loose or uncovered candy, popcom, "fruit or other goodies.
(4) Urge children to wait until they get home to taste their "Treats" so that parents can first inspect them. Report any unusual or suspicious treats to parents. Save treat and remember where you got it.
(5( Ask householders to keep exterior or porch lights on that evening if they wish to partici¬ pate. Advise children to call only at homes with lights on and to stay out of darkened areas.
(6) Warn against the wearing of vision restricted Halloween masks or other head coverings Continued on Page 2
