Robert Schultz, 11113 Sunset D., Huntley, will be installed as 11th District Commander, The American Legion, at 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 15th at the Hampshire Veterans Home, 1% Mill Avenue. Hampshire. This will be a joint installation with the 11th District, American Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy Migalla of Wheaton will be installed as President.
Bob is a member of Huntley American Legion Post #673. He has served many offices in his Post including Jr. Vice Commander, Sr. Vice Commander and three years as Commander. He has served as Americanism Chairman for the past eleven years and five years as Post Chaplain. He has been active in the McHenry County Council of The American Legion serving as Adjutant in 1970 and for the past twelve years as Americanism Chairman. Bob has served the eleventh District as Adjutant for three years, Americanism Chairman for three years, Jr. Vice Commander and the past year as SR. Vice Commander. Bob's wife, Mabel has served as Unit President, McHenry County Council President. 11th District President and 2nd Division President. She has also served many Chairmanships on local and Department levels. Bob has three sons, Gary, Jeffrey anc^ Paul.
Bob's installing team will be installing officer. Past Department Commander, Russell Bieritz from Geneva, Installing Chaplain, Department Chaplain Rev. Bob Augustine from Joliet and Installing Sgt. At-Arms, Ray Maynard from Hampshire. Prior to the installation a Roast Beef dinner will be served from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at $5.00 per plate, RSVP to Mabel Schultz. Dancing to the Mel Elliott Trio will follow the installation. Bob is employed at the Wilcox Pharmacy in Hampshire and is a veteran of the Army Air Force in World Warn.
LION CLUB GOLF OUTING
The Annual Lions Club "Open Golf" outing set for Sept. 19 at the Crystal Woods Country Club is fast filling with reservations, according to Gen¬ eral Chairman, Lion Herb Thurow. Several members of the "Funny Bunnies" Organiz¬ ation have volunteered for Caddy service. (200 at last count) Also a group from the "Running Bare" Club.
Some of the prizes have been (^oroted already-things like a
cruise down the Kiswaukee River with whistle stops along the way. Of course you have to paddle your own canoe I A band will be on hand to play "Tiny Bubbles" as the canoe slowly sinks to the bottom!
Another prize is a one way trip via "Dumbo Jet" to West Africa among a tribe of "Cannonballs." Parachuting from 40,000 feet should be a chance of a lifetime, (one stewed golfer) Other prizes include used golf bags, used balls, empty boose bottles, 2 tea Cdniinur.i ,,n \'au.e 2

PARK DISTRICT MEETING
The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order at 8 P.M. on Wednes¬ day, August 22, 1979. Present were Commissioners Ruth, Tures, Borhart, Weltzien and Mercer. Also in attendance were Attorney Cowlin, Larry Kahl and Recreation Director Betsey Warrington.
The minutes of the July 25th meeting were read. Mrs. Mer¬ cer added the word Recreation, so Mrs. Warrington's title will read Recreation Program Dir¬ ector. Mr. Borhart moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Mr. Tures. All Commission¬ ers voted aye and the motion carried.
The Treasurer's report was given. Mr. Tures moved to accept the report, seconded by Mr. Borhart. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried.
The bills for the month were presented. Mr. Weltzien made a motion to accept the bills, except one in question seconded by Mr. Tures. All Commissioner voted aye, the motion carried.
Mr. Ruth reported on the Special meeting of the Huntley Park District held August 13, 1979. It was approved to give D & Z Transfer the bid for parking area expansion in the amount of $3500.00.
Larry Kahl reported that the tree and stump removal job had been completed and is satisfact¬ ory. The board will have the problem rest room pumped and limed to try to correct the problem.
A Park Regulation Ordinance was again presented and tabled until the next meeting.
Mrs. Warrington reported on the success of the Top Swap Day in the park and upcoming events, such as, the Mini- Marathon Day (2 miles) to be held in September and sponsor¬ ship of bowling for school children and other sports poss¬ ibilities. Mrs, Warrington and Mrs. Mercer will offer fall bulb

The money raised by the Huntley Jaycees through their Las Vegas Night will be used to help pay for the new recycled play(,round sponsored by the Huntley Citizens' Advisory Council. Besides money, the Jaycees have donated much of their time to help create a long needed, expanded and improved playground for the children of Huntley.

The flnance report was given by Mr. Borhart. Mr. Tures made a motion to adopt a resolution to transfer the IMRF fund balance to the general fund in order to close out the IMRF fund, seconded by Mr. Borhart. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried. A motion to accept the audit prepared by Lester Witte & co. was made by Mr. Tures, seconded by Mr. Weltzien. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried.
Mrs. Mercer reported on the MISRA meetings.
Mr.  Tures submit   d to the
board letters from the Wood¬ stock and Cary Park Districts regarding costs of their swim¬ ming pool programs. Discussion followed and feasibility will be discussed at a later date after more information is available.
A motion was made by Mr. Borhart to approve the tax levy ordinance, seconded by Mr. Tures. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion • ' ried.
Mr. Tures made tne motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Weltzien. The meeting was adjoumed at 9:50 P.M.
