Dr. James Ehivls h-as stated the reason for the $200,000 which was in excess of the fJanned amount for the general contractor. This he said was no doiibt oaiised by the rising costs of steel and reduction in steel production, besides the great quantity of steel which wdll be used by this part of the build- inlng to be erected.. This has been labeled Phase One of the two phase construction plan and will amount to $5,166,160.
$4.9 million dollars will come from the state — the rest to be paid by the college with funds realized  in a referendiun.
It is reported that the well and the elevator will have to be re-bid as the college received only one bid on each of these items.
The college will have to seek out the Illinois Board of Higher Edu¬ cation and the Illinois Junior Col¬ lege Board for approviil of the re- vi.sod iMidgel if more money is needed it inay be taken frcwn the Phase Two funds and paid back when that building of this phase is ready to start.
Dr. Jamies Davis will meet with the State Official Board on Jan¬ uary 4 to determine the exact status of McHenry County Collie.
The results will be told at the next McHenry County Board meeting.
Huntley, the newest addition to the areas which have been included in the MCC District will have six courses offered by the Junior Col¬ lege next summer. This is District 168 and Includes Huntley, which is in McHenry County and a portion of Kane County.

Attention All Snowmobilers
As we all knoiw, Huntley is one cf the few tcwns in the area that allows the sTiowmobiler to ride his machine in ar»d out of the city lim¬ its. This does not apply to joy rid¬ ing on the streets. You are to ride at a maximum of 10 mph., and on the ti-ee banks, whenever passible
This rules is'being abused by many snowmobilers, and it is going to ruin it for everyone.
Anyone seeing thds rules being abused, ai^e to try and get the li¬ cense number of the snowmobile, and a possible description of it, and tiim such into the Huntley Police.

This year the graduates of 1973 and 1969 are being sent questionnaires asking for tflheir. opimon of Himtley's educaitional pn^ram and for their suggestions as to improveme«»ts.

Tne Meisler S'ngeni, who have been staying in Huntley the past week, gave a concert tast Tliursday morning for the high s-ho<l ""tu- dcnts. Ttiis concert completed their t<;ur of the HuMley area.
Ttie group, imder the Erection <rf Faye Marlowe, started oft the pro- g'.iim with a "fanfare for Christmas Day" composed by Robert Shaw. Then the group from Florida did a medley written by Faye Marlowe. The niediley contained such carols tis "Silent Night". Their next song was written by Harr>' Simeone and titled "Sing of a Merry Christmas." Then the group picked i;^ the beat with a song titledl "Jazz Gloria" written by Natalie Smith. Their next selection was a very popular c^e arranged by Harry Simeone and titled "Do you Hear What I Hear?" The tempo switched to a slow "Rock style with a song writ¬ ten by Lawrence I^pin titled "The Lord's Supper." Their next selection was "Jingle-Bell Rock" and wtit- ten by Joel Be£kl and Jim Booth Then two members of the Meister Singers. Kirit Hansen nnd Kathy .Aurard, performed a duet titled "Traces,' which was written by the lx!ttermen. Then the ^mtire group joined in a very modem and popu¬ lar tune written by Frederick Silver ;md titled "The twelve days after Christmas.''   -
At this point in tlie program, the audier«ce gave these talented singers a standing ovation. To show their appreciation, the singers accepted a request. The request was written by Chuck Cassey and titled "Bless the Beasts and the Children." An¬ other duet was performed, but this time by PWl Burch and Gary Har- ned. They sang "never Ending Song of Love" by Dickey l.ee. The singers ended the audience a merry Christ' mas and a happy New Ye&r.
The concert was a huge success and their meister sit^eris were truly welcome during their stay in Hunt¬ ley.
