On Tuesday evening, June 29,1976, the Huntley Park Board dedicated the new shelter and adjacent equipment in Deieke Park, by placing a bronze plaque on the shelter.
The completed shelter was given to the park in memory of Glen H. Cole Jr. by his family, for the use of the people of Huntley. The cost of transporting the unassembled shelter from it's manufacturing site in Arkansas was donated by the Dean Foods Comapany, with whom Glen had been associated thru his trucking business for over 25 years. GREASE PIG CONTEST FOR
THE4H The Huntley FFA chapter will sponsor agrease pig contest after the parade on Sunday. Different age groups will be run. The contest will be held in Deieke Park. Coveralls will be provided tO'keep your clothes clean. Prizes will be awarded.

Last Saturday, June 26th at approximately 12:30, a car driven by Steve Nepermann of Huntley, carrying passengers Sandy Kel¬ ley of Huntley and Dawn Wott- owski of Huntley went off the road onto the south shoulder where it struck a mailbox. The car then continued southeast into a field, where it rolled over numerous times coming to a stop on the car's right side, approxi-

Last Wednesday, June 23rd, Don Enstrom was elected President of the j^^  ^^^  ^^^   j^^^^j   traveling Mc Henry County Municipal League. The Municipal League is composed of eastbound on the Huntley-AlgMi- village and city officials from throughout Mc Henry County. Each month the      j^   blacktop at a high rate of league holds a dinner meeting in a different community throughout the ^p^gj
county. The meeting last Wednesday was held at Port Edwards Resturant in j^^ ^j^ve information was Algonquin. The group enjoyed a seafood buffet complete with lobster and approximated by the SherifTs Alaskan crab. The next meeting of the group will be held in Huntley at the jj J ^^^^^ ^^ sUtement was American Legion. This is the first time that a mayor from Huntley has been ^^^^^ ^j^^^ evening The driver elected President ofthe group. ^^^ passengers  were  taken  to
Sherman Hospital with bruises and lacerations and later releas¬ ed.
No tickets have been issued at this time. Property damage was reported by Qarence Aavang of 9105 Algonquin Rd. Huntley.
HUNTLEY WELCOMES NEIGHBORS
Saturday afternoon the sound of an antique siren could be heard as many old time vehicles were escorted into Huntley from the west. They were the Hampshire Centennial Corporation paying a visit to their neighbors to public¬ ize the upcoming celebration of July 16th to the 24th. After being welcomed by Mayor Ensfrom, the Huntley Anniversary and Bicent¬ ennial committees and the girl scouts, they then presented a Centennial key to the Mayor. All of the visitors were dressed in appropriate costume. Following the welcoming they all proceeded to the Huntley American Legion Home for some cool refreshment- s. Huntley will participate in the Hampshire parade on July 24th and they in tura will join us for the August 14th &15th celebrat¬ ion of Huntley's 12Sth Annivers¬ ary
HUNTLEY^S ANNIVERSARY
Since it is just a little over a month before the Huntley 125th Anniversary celebration, the cou¬ rtesy committee asks that every¬ one who has relatives or fiiends that might like to know about the festivities write to them now and ask them to attend. The parade will be on Saturday August 14th at 11am and a big program has been planned following. On Sun¬ day August 15th a homecoming picnic will be held at Deieke Parit. This is a good time for old fiiends and neighbors to renew acquaint- ances.[ Everyone to bring thdr picnic loncfa - tiicra wfll be food stands on the gronads also ) The famous "Hot Licks" will provide the picnickers with music and will also play following the afternoon program. Many other activities will take place during the two day celebration and the oomplete pro^m will appear in this paper within the next two weeks.

The American Legion and the Bicentennial Committee remind the residents of Huntley of the activities as planned for celebrating America's     Birthday.

(Formation time -12:30 at the Lutheran Church parking lot!
3. Fun & games at Deieke Park. Bring a picnic lunch.

6. Singing and dancing till 7pm.

ATTENTION
All veterans are requested to wear their old service uniforms, or their    current     uniforms     and     ride     in     the     parade.
Anyone having an old-time outfit is also requested to wear it. Let's get in the Spirit of '76 and have a gala time!
