Around Huntley . . .
1wo picnics and the water flgtits were held in Huntley last Sunday. The American Legion and Trinity Lutheran Church baseball team held picnics at Deicke Park while the Huntley Firemen heW county water fights in the village square. In addition to water fights be¬ tween the various fire departments, the Huirtley fii-emen featured water fights between the wives of firemen and children at the event. These feminine matches are the only ones conducted in the county circuit. An onlocker was overheard to fiv that Huntley Firemen believe in equal rights for women.
The winning ladies team re¬ ceived a trophy. Tbis year's winner was Woodstock City. A represen- Ic'.ive from Continental Insurance Company stated that in future years his company will present a tnopihy and fifty dollars oash prize money to the winning ladies team at the Huntley water fight. Both Huntley's ladies and men's teams were elim¬ inated in the first round of compe¬ tition.
The winning trophies went to Woodstock City, 1st Place; Wllmoot, 2nd place; Burlington, 3rd ptace; and Crystal Liake, 4th place.

Board of Review Turns Down Grafton Appeal
"We will take our ca.se to the State and to the courts." So stated Mayor Anthony Wujcik of Crystal Lane after he bad read a letter to the Crystal Lake Council from the McHenry County Board of Review slating that there will be no re¬ ductions on the assessments on the vacant lots in the part of Grafton Township which is in the corporate limits of Crystal Lake, specifically in Crystal Vista, Crystal Gardens, and the other West end subdivi¬ sions.
The letter from the Board of Re¬ view stated that the assessments made by the Grafton Township as¬ sessor were correct
The Mayor and Crystal Lake City CouikII tlvough their lawyer, Hal McKenney stated that the assess¬ ments on Uie lots had been raised while lots ttie same size in the Huntley'area of Grafton 'Townsh^ have remained at the old lower level.
Besides this the city contends that this is a depressed area be¬ cause of the water and sewer as¬ sessments soon to be levied on these Crystal Lake lots and that this tax has caused the value of the property to depreciate because of the sewer and water assessment soon to be enacted. Later there wiU also be road assessments in this area.
Candidate Pucinski Visits Huntley

U.S. Congressman Roman Pucin¬ ski visited Huntley last Sunday. Mr. Pucinski, candidate for die U.S. Senele seat currently held by Mr. Charles Percy, is tliought to be the only national Democratic office¬ holder to visit Huntley in a genera¬ tion. He watched the water fights and joined the Legion picitickerg in Diecke Park.
"People such as those who live in the Huntley area are the ones who will elect me," said Mr. Pucinski. "These ordinary, hard¬ working people, visibly coiKemed about the soaring cost of living and angry about paying more than their fair share of the tax load, are tired of being represented by a million¬ aire senator who seems to be look¬ ing to the 1976 Presidential race instead of to the present neecb of the people of lUinoia. We need a workhors4 not a jfcovkhorse," Mr. Pucinski added.

Trick Golf Show at Pinecrest
On Saturday, September 2nd, Pau Hahn will present a performance of golf trick shots combined with a unique <;omedy routine at Pine- ohrist Golf course in Huntley. The slww will start at 6:00 P.M.
Mr. Herb Jackisch, owner of the club, stated that Mr. Hahn is the world's greatest golf trick shot artist. He added diat there will be no charge for the performance and invited everyone to come.
