The Huntley Board of Education held a ctHitiiMatioin of their August stlwol bOBid meeting last Monday night in teh board room of the hi^ School.
Presideirt Ziller called the meet¬ ing to order. Roll was taken. All members  were  present.
The first order of business was to discuss stottige for cafeteria food' and meat prices. Mr. Marks siaid that he had been checking out area meat prices and found that Harry's Sr^er Valu in Huntley was the least expensive. The idea of "keeping the busdness in Hunitley" was tossd a- bout. This firm, howver, has a prob¬ lem of fadlities. It was a general sugpesHion to stay with Crightcns, their present storage facility, for the present. Tiiey will continued to de- livr 111 goaJs for now Ai'ter Crigh- tons discomtinue their delivery, the boar I decided to go to H.irry's for storage. The b(;ard decided to start buylrf: meat fi'Om Harry's S'juper Value at once. No decision was made as to how to replace the present freezer that is no longer suitable for service.

Mr. Marks was directed by the board to talk to the Village Board on this mitter.
On this note, the board decided to retire into executive session at S:55 p.m.
5 Inservice Days Approved for School
1974-75 Teacher Inservice Days will call dismissal of sd>ool at noon and the remainder of that day teach¬ ers and administrators will be en¬ gaged in inservlee activities.
September 3.0th — The K-5 teach¬ ers will review and revise report cards and conference procedures. Ehiring that same time high school staff w^ be planning activities, events and reviewing programs. Teachers of grades 6-8 will be in a seminar with psychologist, Verdon Hall. The topic for this group is "The Adolescent ainild."
November 7 — Teadiers will com¬ plete preparation for PSarent con- cerences which will be heid the next day.
February 20 — 'Ihe staff wiU seek to d€iine a list of piofessional competencies as tequired by tiie Of¬ fice of the State ftiperintendent of Public InstructaiorL
March 6 — K-5 teachers will be preparing ftor parent confejences.
Teachers of grades 6 - 12 will be holding conferences.
April 28 — Teadiers will explore attarnatives available to Dist. No. 158 for the developing of a program for gifted students.

The 4-H Huntley Hanesters went to Springfield last Monday, August 19 to participate in the 4-H State Softball Finals. Huntiey fitushed in Springfield with a second plaoe in the state.
At 11:30 Monday morning, the Harvesters played Iroquois County and won by a 10-9 decision. Iro- qiKriso Oounty took an early lead with a four-nm first inning. Huntley then scored once in the thind irniing and three times in the fourth and fifth frames to take the lead at 7-1 The sixth inning won the game for Huntloyy as they put across three runs to take a 10-6 lead. But Iroqi'ois made the b^le elase with three runs in the seventh inning to make the final score 10-9. Don Lagerhausen had three hits for Hunt¬ ley, one of those hits a home run. Steve Luth aiso had three hits- and was the winning pitcher. Tom Moli- tor, John Drafall, and Tom Lager¬ hausen each had two hits. Conrad Sohultz had one hit, a home run. Steve Van Acker, Jim Ervin, and Jack Hardt also had hits.
At 4:00 that afternoon, Huntley played in the quarterfinal round against Rock Island Coimty. The Huntley squad also wcm this dual, 8-6. Rock Island scored four times in the first two innings, but Huntlej' bounced hack witli six nms in their half of the second inning to take a 6-4 Ie?d_ Huntley scored in ¦what proved to be the winning run in tiie fourth inning. Steve Luth was the winning pitcher and contributed two hits to the Huntley attack. Steve Van Acker had a home run for Huntley. Tom Moiitor, John Drafall, Don Lagerhausen, Tom Lageiliau- sen, Tirri West, and Jack Hardt each had one hit.
The next day at 9:30 a.m. saw Humtley win big in the semi-final round against the Jackson CJounty I ohampioiB. (iThe Hwitley team won to a tune ol 18-6. Huntiey tx)ok the early lead with a five-run third inn¬ ing and added three nus in the fourth, fifth, and sixth frames, lliey also added four more runs in the
seventli inniag to win. Joim Dn^Ball and Don Lagerhausen lead the Hunt¬ ley blitz with four and three hits respectively. Tom Lagerhausen, Frank Keams, and Jack Hardt each had two hits while Steve Luth, Torn Moiitor, and Steve Van Acker each had its in the Huntley attack.
Huntley faced Champaign Oounty in tiie Finals at 11:15 that morning and were eliminated. Steve Van .Acker and Tom Lagerhaisen botli Itad homers in a losing cause.
Hiuitley arrived back in Hurttley that evening and were met by par- coH-s south of town and were es¬ corted through town in a victory pa¬ rade. Then the motorcade broke up with a dinner at Deieke Park.
A fom"-yeaT quest for the state championship proved suoceissful for the McHenry Oounty Farm Bureau Young Admit team last week!
The team, managed by Jim Olary, posted three victories to gain the state title in the two-d'ay fliMJls of the Illinois Farm Sports Festival. In addition, the MdHenry Coutrfy Farm Bureau's 35'ere and 4-H Boys team won seoond to give McHenty Ooun¬ ty Farm Bureau another outstanding season in this program of recrea¬ tion, participation and fun Unt be¬ gan with bowling last February.
The Young Adult team downed I>aSalle county wtth a come-fnom- behdnd 6-2 victory. LaSafle acwned twi<*e in the first and had the bases loaded with a threat to become un- catbbable, but Horier Tom Weber stifled the rally as he forced the batter to pop out with two out and the bases loaded.
McHenry oouirty's raUy came late in the game, a six-run outtnirst sprinkled with hits, base-runoing and daring steak, (^jposing waiks and errors contiitnited to the suooeiss.

The 4-H team had to break through a field of 16 finaUstB to reach the finals agauKt Chamipaign county. Manager John Hatdt's charges, built aixwnd the Htnfiley Harveaters 4-H dub, won three games Including a semi-Anal vktDiy on the secxmd morning cf the tour¬ ney.
McHenry beat Iroquofe, 10-9; Roc* Island, 8-6; and Jackson, 18-6, befbre losing a Champaign, 29-10.
