"The first day of tfae 79th Gen. eral Assembly, State Rep. Oal SWnoer, Jr. (R-Crystal Lake) in- troduoed a bill that would author¬ ize the Re^on Transportation Authority to impose cHffereirt tax¬ es on gasoOine in each of the six RTA district counties.
"When it became appaTcmt that cfaalnnan-designate Milton Pikar¬ sky and the one necessary subur¬ ban RTA lx>ard member would aide wKh Chlca.go in imposing^ a 5 per cent gas tax, I thou^ it was time to give all four sui>ur- ban board members another chance to prove that they arent g^ing to completely sell ik out, as they did when they named Pikaieky," Skinner said.

The varsity RedskitK hosted the Richmond Rockets last Friday night in a Little Eight Conference con- icst. This game proved to be one of the biggest routs of tiw season .TS the Redskins won 79-45.

The Rocket offemse did pick up some momentum in the second quar¬ ter as they tallied 10 points as a team. But the Redskins continued to hit, scoring 9 points in the quar¬ ter for the RedskiiB. The iSist half ended with the Redskins oontroVng the game with a 38-16 lead.
The two teams played each otfaer evenly in the third quarter. Both teams tied In third quarter sooring at 14-14. Bill Koch had 10 of the Redskin points. In the early min¬ utes of the quaiter, Andy MBler picked up his fifth personal foul. and this didint heip the Richmond oause. The third quarter ended with the Redskins holding a 52-30 lead over the Rockets.
Coach Deianey used his ben* in the late stages at tfae game. Hia .squad outduakd the Rockets 27-15 in the final quarter. John DrafaH had 6 ponits in the quarter for tfae Redskins. Setfa Peterson came off the bench for the 'Skins to also tally 6 points. The game ended with the Redskins winning by a large mar¬ gin, 79-45.
Bill Koch vras tfae game's high scorer with 29 points. Steve Neper- manin had 14 points wiule John Drafall added 12. Mark Brettschnei- dci- tallied 7 points while Marie Ewert chalked up 6 points, as did Seth Peterson Don GUssendorf aod Jeff Schultz had 2 points eadi and R<dph Henning added a free throw.
The following night, the Redskins traveled to Elgin Academy to face the Hilltoppers in a noo-coniference game. Behind a 33-po4nt second quarter, the Redskins handily de¬ feated the Hilltoppers by a 93-67 score.
The Hilltoppers Stayed with the Redskins thrcwghoot most of tlie first quarter, tying the Redsidns at 14-14 after abovA six minutes of play. But the Redskins came into their own in the finail two mfatotes of tfae quaiter to take an 18-14 ad¬ vantage over tfae Hilltoppers.
The Rediskins broke open the game in the second staiza, aotuaDy outplaying tfae 'Toppers in the quar¬ ter 33-18. Bill Koch scored 17 of the Redskin total in tfae quaiter. The first Iwlf ended with the Red¬ skins holding a ocMnfortable 51-32 lead over Elgin Academy.
John Drafall, Steve Nepennano, and Bill Koch combined for 20 points in the third quarter to leed> the Redskins to a 73-41 third quar¬ ter lead.
Tbe Redskins' substitutes piayed most of the final quarter, and out¬ dualed the HiOtoppers 20>-16. Jeff Sdiultz and Lee Manh oame off the bench to lead the drive witti 7 and 5 points respectively fai tbe quarter. The game ended with the Redskins gaining their seoond vks tory in a row.
