SAR and DAR Award Winners
The Senior Qass and Faculty of Huntley High Schooi have chosen Cindy McOoOlum tor the Daughter of the Ameriom RevolutijMi award and Greg Lindsey for the Son of the American Revolution award.
DeriendatftBitjy, service, leadorl- ship and patriotism were standards by which the pair were chosen.
Miss McCollum is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCofllum. The D.A.R. winner has participated in Honor Society. Chorus, Band, Cheerieading, and G.A.A. Her vo¬ cational ge>al is nursing.
Mr. Lindsey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lindsey. The S.A.R. winner has been active m Football, Baseball, Band and National Honor Society. He has also been a class officer each of his Hi^ Schotol years. He also has been active in Basketball.
Petition Denied
Three families petitnoned School District 300 Kane County to revise the sdiod boundary so that their children oould attend the distriot 58 schooQs, mainly the Huntley schools. Those who petitioned are Mr and Mrs. David Kosman, Mr. and Mrs. Russell S. Serio and Mrs. Beverly Hartmann. They were rep¬ resented by attorney Wayne Han¬ sen of Elgin. They live on Powers Road where there is a 618 acre track of land up which the three homes are located. Some said that they thougirt (ihat they were in the Huntley district when they pur¬ chased their homes.
The petitioners stated that their children are engaged in other youth activities in Huntley and that this school district is closer to their homes than the Kane Oounty schewls which are located in Hampshire.
The Kane County School district denied the petition of the Huntley people. William Oaveny, Distnict Director sitating that it is a matter of principle and that there are other families who wish to disannex frorn District 300 and that this would set a bad precedent. He fur¬ ther stated lhat he did not wi^ District 300 to be ackied to or taken from piecemeal.
Superintendent of District 158 Mr. LeRoy Marks sW«d that he had represented the Huntley Sdiools at the hearing Tuesday, Jan. 2 and tha/t he had answered all of the questlone of the County Board andi that he had expressed the willing¬ ness of the Board ol District 158 to accept the annexation. He fur- tiicT stated that the Huntley schooils wene able to take care of these additional  students.

Vehicle Stickers Now On Sale
Chief Richard Nelson anne>unced this week that yepitie stickers may be obtained ait the Huntley VUlage Hall. The stickers vrikl be on sale now through February. On March 1, 1973, a penalty vrill be charged, and residents who do not have stickers on their cars wiM be penal¬ ized and subject to a trifle cita¬ tion. Anyone wishing to reserve a specific sticker number should oontact Chief Nelson immediately.

Record Crowd at Legion New Years Eve
A reoord crowd attended the New Yesff Eve party at the Hunt^ ley American Legion Home last Sunday. The group enjoyed music by the Bob Moehling Oichegtra. The party lasted until Uie wee hours d the morning. A breakfast was served. The crowd was so tremen¬ dous that the kitclhen staff ran out of bread for the breakfast.

For the past two weeks we have hdd the newspaper a day in the hopes that the pictures of the sch¬ oot Christmas Concerts and other events would come back in time for publication. Usually pictures are returned within 24 hours. How¬ ever the shots we took in on Dec¬ ember 26th have yet to be returned Altho we realize that next week is a bit late to be publishing pictures of events which happened in the middle of December, we will pub¬ lish these Christmas events, that is, ol course, If tbe developer gets them baek to us.

"Identification Operation**
Chief Richard Nelson of the Hunt ley Police Department announced today that the department has a tool to etch your drivers tioense number onto tools and other ap¬ pliances, etc. The project, known as "Identificatwn C^wnaticm," is nat¬ ion wide and was started in Denver Colorado. Every community in Mc¬ Henry County is participating in an elfort to identify potential stol¬ en items and reduce crime.

Two Burglaries In Hantley
Two (>urglaries occurred in Hunt¬ ley ovw the New Year's Week-end.
Tbe first occured at the Terry Jones residence, 135 N. Vine St. According ti the HuniUey Poiioe Department, the bouse was entered and valuable papers and money were taken.
The first happened at the Jeiry at the James Mattingly residence, 338 N. Church St. A large quantity of tapes, records, a tape recorder, several guns and other valuables weie taken, the poflice report.
The police are working oa sever¬ al leads and have suspects in mind.
