Christmas Program
On Wednesday. December 16. the annual elemenlury school C hristmas program vsas held in the auditorium of the Ihmtlev School. The title of the program this year was Santa T and featured students from kinder- s^arlen through eighth grade.
The program started with an over tore, Ihe (hristmas Prayer, played by the Jr. High School b:ind and sixth grade band. Follow ing the overture the kindergarten clas.ses sang Jingle Bells and Santa and his elves. 'The first graders appear"d next singing Mr. Santa and Jolly Old ¦St. Nicholas. Next came the third prEriers who sang It's beginning to look a lot like Chrkstnias, Deck the Halls, and I saw mommy Kissing Santa Claus. The second graders then sang Rudolph the red nose Raindoer. Frosty the Sno^vman. and Susy Snow Flake. The fourlh grade then sang all I want for C hristnris is My two front teeth and C-H-R-l- S-T-M-A-S. The Jr. High ctiorus ap¬ peared next on the program singing, with Children, co where 1 sent thee. Tittle lord and Oh little Town Of liethleh'-m and Deck the Halls and 1 saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus.
I he finale was presented by the ,!r. High School hand and the sixth grade band. Vocal and instrumental sideclions on the program were in- tersperced throughout a play, the plot of which .set in a psychiatri>t office. \ man came in claiming that ho was Santa Claus. and the fun of the analysis office began from there. The cast of the play was comprised <>f: John C'rafr.li. narator: Wayne C~irau, .secretary: Pam F'dman.son. Psychiatrist: Dave Wille, Santa: fJrant .'^wanson, & Jerry Hight elves: Mark Bretschneider judge and sales man: Betty Cioerlit/. Dawn (iarrelts Rudol[)h: David Ciraske. Frosty: Sue W'elt/ein. Susy .Snow I-lake: (tail Ackman and Ellen F.rvin 2 central incisors; Steve Hacklei hustler and beggar: Paula Roeslrne mother I and 2; Kevin Kamphousin, father 1 and 2; Piano accompianist for the play and choral rendition were Pam .lirik and Mrs. Gloria Christianson. Audio and visual effects were Hal Shott and Randy I.egee and technical were Randy Legcc and Randy Bo- j ley. John Spinclas, Mike Schweiger 'Peg Sigrist and Sue Burgess. Teach ers in charge of this prograin in¬ cluded Mr. Con Hicks author and dramatic director, Mr. Bill I^gee. vocal music, and Mr. Hank Wo/.neil. ':/ instrumental music. The program was presented lo a packed house. Many of whom were heard to com¬ ment that it was the best pri^duction of its kind they had seen. ,\t the end of the production Sant;i made his .appearance on stage and distributed candy to .students and pre-schoolers. J Santa was contacted and lold of the program through the efforts of the Huntley Lions CTnb and for that f reason made his pre-Christmas ap- (X^arance.
